The integrity of your IT registered data is of significant value to your company. EfficientIP’s solu-tions provide tools that allow you to automatically document IP address attributes.IPLocator™ appliance is a network discovery tool that offers industry-leading network reconcilia-tion capabilities. NetChange-IPLocator™ provides accurate and comprehensive views of network connections. NetChange-IPLocator™ provides a global vision with a centralized analysis of your address locations. Automated IP plan documentation removes the need to manually enter this information into the IPAM repository.

NetChange-IPLocator™ appliance provides comprehensive visibility into IP address connections on the network by providing the ability to identify, monitor and locate IP address locations on network devices. This allows you to discover inconsistencies on an ongoing basis and consistently maintain an up to date IP plan aligned with current and future operations.

Dynamic Devices DocumentingFor each IP and MAC address discovered, the NetChange-IPLocator™ appliance will identify the fol-lowing key information: switch name, switch slot, switch port, switch description, switch OS version, VLAN number, switch status, port speed, link status, first seen and last seen.

Reclaim Unused IP and MAC AddressesEfficientIP’s discovery process can identify IP and MAC addresses that have been unused during a given period of time. Based on this information, it is easy to determine whether IP addresses can be released or reallocated.

• The name• The type (model description)• The OS version• The number of slots and interfaces

In addition NetChange-IPLocator™ automatically discovers the network interface of each network device and its associated characteristics:

Scheduled DiscoveriesNetChange-IPLocator™ enables you to define discovery scenarios by specifying the resources to be scanned and the frequency. This allows adaptation of the process to best meet your company require-ments.

Control IP Port Occupancy RateEfficientIP’s discovery process can identify any switch ports which have been unused during a defined period of time as available for release or reallocation. This is particularly important in the context of data-centers helping to avoid overconsumption of Giga Ethernet ports to unused servers.

Discover Unauthorized DevicesDiscoveries made by NetChange-IPLocator™ can send alerts when an unknown device is detected on the network.

History of IP/MAC Addresses MobilityNetChange-IPLocator™ identifies and archives any changes in IP or MAC address location on the network. It brings a global view of the mobility of the company’s stations by address offset -switch, slot, port and VLAN offset of an IP and/or a MAC address. The displayed, archived information shows when, where and who was connected and remains connected so that IP and MAC mobility can easily be trac-ked.

Network ReconciliationNetChange-IPLocator™ is fully integrated to SOLIDserver™ DDI appliance suite, VLAN Manager and Device Manager modules delivering a complete reconciliation of NetChange-IPLocator™ discoveries with network device interfaces, VLAN and DDI repositories. IPLocator™ enables you to compare the theoretical IP address locations defined in SOLIDserver™’s IPAM repository with discovered information. At a glance, it is easy to identify inconsistencies and receive alerts by email. Advanced reports supply a simple, comprehensive and summarized view.

Bandwith Monitoring of Network Device PortsNetChange-IPLocator™ provides advanced graphs to monitor the bandwidth of your network device ports. You can easily anticipate ports usage trend and avoid saturation, understand actual bandwidth consumption to optimize port allocation, and detect unexpected increases in port utilization for proactive network device management.

Data ExportsNetChange-IPLocator™ allows export of complete data lists (XML, CSV, Excel files) at all levels, using a resource selector on a web interface. The search engine enables filtering of the data to be exported.

Reports and StatisticsEfficientIP’s solutions supply a variety of reports on network discoveries, enabling proactive analysis of your network activity and trends. These reports are a powerful tool when used to manage capacity plan-ning and provide a clear understanding of the allocation of network resources.
