• The NBF is reaching an important ten year milestone of facilitatingcommercial, investment and development values for its stakeholders. Withprivate sector and donor commitment to the NEPAD mandate, the NBF hasbeen able to achieve several key milestones in 2013:

• NBF and DTI Industrial Policy Event - 26 July 2013

With recent infrastructure and industrial development in the SADC regionopening up new opportunities for investors, this event aimed at informing theprivate sector on the DTI's recent launch of the 2013 - 2016 Industrial PolicyAction Plan and the establishment of designated Industrial DevelopmentZones (IDZs), as well as the planned Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and theopportunities this presented for private sector investors.

The overall purpose of this session is give Member states, practitioners,academic, business and other stakeholders an opportunity to discuss andexchange views on the catalytic role that investment can have in helpingAfrican countries achieve their development objectives, including those ofNEPAD, particularly the eradication of poverty and the attainment of inclusiveand sustained economic growth.
