Services Delivered SAP MII implementation for real-time visibility and reporting, mobile applications and integrated dashboard.

INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY & PERFORMANCE

Pemex Gas manages 10 gas processing complexes, encompassing 71 processing facilities, 131 units of auxiliary services, and 100,000 tons in capacity of liquid storage. Control, analysis and evaluation of operations and company performance are supported by a large number of IT industrial systems, which are operated by specialized personnel. Integrating and analyzing information from several disparate data sources around the organization was difficult, and resulted in:

• High costs for training staff how to use information from specialized IT tools;

• Wasted time recompiling and integrating data and reports;

• Problems with authorization and access to information.

This damaged or delayed decision-making for key production processes, including planning, operation, safety, product quality and performance management, only to name a few.

Needed a reliable system for real-time decision-making

Pemex SAP MII | CASE STUDY

Background Pemex Gas (www.pemex.com) is a subsidiary of Petroleos Mexicanos, the largest corporation Mexico, as well as one of the largest in Latin America. Pemex Gas processes, transports and markets natural gas, liquid hydrocarbons and basic petrochemicals, such as ethane, sulfur gasoline and crude oil gas. The company also provides various industrial services, including establishing natural gas prices. Pemex is the 10th largest oil company in the world in terms of revenue and ranks 42nd on the list of Fortune 500 companies.

Real Time Report Monitoring Pemex Gas manages 10 gas processing complexes and knew it had to unify large scale operations sprawled across 71 processing facilities. NEORIS analyzed the problem to find an adequate solution that allowed timely and reliable integration and availability of information for decision-making for both operations and business units at different levels of the organization.

NEORIS was able to ease right into the six-month project, knowing the best implementation strategy that wouldn’t disrupt operations. With grassroots understanding of operations that have no room for downtime, NEORIS was able to put to use its best practices and expertise for another Mexican global powerhouse. With nearshore outsourcing operations throughout the globe, NEORIS was able to provide unparalleled expertise on-the-ground with an unprecedented go-live. Pemex Gas analyzed the problem to find an adequate solution that allowed timely and reliable integration and availability of information for decision-making for both operations and business units at different levels of the organization. After the analysis, the group of Pemex Gas experts from both areas decided to purchase the SAP MII solution, which was successfully implemented by NEORIS.

The Portal developed during the implementation of SAP MII is a tool that helps to integrate and combine information from different IT systems to those existing at the Subdirectory of Production at Pemex Gas, including: Advisor, SampleManager, PIMS, OsiSoft PI and SISPA with the SAP modules for PP-PI, CO, BW, EHS, PM and others. The dashboards available at the portal contain information about production, planning, quality, maintenance, real-time operation, safety, health, environmental protection and performance indicators that can be accessed on any PC. An innovation of the project was the development of mobile dashboards, through which users can: • Monitor variables in real time • Send and receive operational alerts • View data and production indexes • Track KPIs • Find data on raw material and products

quality • Locate maintenance information.

Among the benefits of the SAP MII implementation: • Significantly increased productivity and

performance, resulting in a higher production rate of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

• Solution permits every single member of the company to monitor real-time information in order to make decisions remotely while on the go.

• Personnel is enabled to access information and receive alerts to PDA and cellular phones.

• Real-time KPI monitoring and

Personalized Dashboards and information delivery based on internet and/or intranet access (Production & Planning, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, etc.).

• Integration between SAP and production systems in a single application. Ability to monitor information from both SAP and plant industrial systems without using different applications.

Real-time KPI monitoring and Personalized Dashboards
