The NEMI Materials Declarations Project, initiated in late2003,
ran a set of pilot tests, leading to recommendations for anAutomated, Industry Standard Materials Declaration process
The objectives were to recommend a standard materialsdeclaration process and toolset that:
Aligned with the Joint Industry Guide (JIG)Focused on the legally banned and restricted materialsin JIG Annex A, Annex B optionalIncluded an automated reporting process with minimalsupply chain cost impact
