The NEM Group of which we are the manufacturing department is a
major player in the global market for custom made solutions in the
field of Heat Recovery, Industrial and Utility steam generators and
related equipments.
NEM Manufacturing is the manufacturing facility and is located in
the northern part of the Netherlands.
NEM Manufacturing is qualified and certified to manufacture
pressure parts in accordance with the ASME, TRD, RToD (Dutch
rules for pressure vessels) and the European Pressure Equipment
Directive, PED, AS1210.
From 1964 on, the production facility has specialized in pressure
part manufacturing and is evaluated up to a state of the art
production facility.

Manufacturing
The manufacturing facility is specialized in the manufacturing of
pressure parts such as the fabrication of headers that are used in
Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG).
To optimize the production of headers we implemented the latest
welding technologies including a welding robot which can weld fully
automatic 250 header stubs per 8 hours.
Automatic welding technologies enable us to manufacture in a
competitive market.
Our shop is fully sized and equipped to produce large harps for the
horizontal HRSGs and boiler modules for the vertical HRSGs.
With an overall experience of more than 30 years in the
manufacturing of pressure parts, our dedicated skilled employees
work at a high quality level and have a lot of know-how.
Research and development
NEM Manufacturing does the research for the NEM Group on new
materials for pressure parts in the NEM Boilers. For example NEM
Manufacturing has produced headers, harps, boiler modules and
piping made of 9Cr-1Mo modified materials since 1994 (e.g. P91)
and since 2008 for P92 to meet the code requirements of the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Technische Regeln
für Dampfkessel (TRD) and the European Norm and PED. These
experiences and know-how are available for other purposes in the
industry as well.
Whereas many companies still use the electrical welding process
with stick electrodes (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or SMAW), NEM
Manufacturing is succesful in using the Gas Metal Arc Welding
(GMAW) method (fully mechanised and using metal cored wires)
and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.

Technical support
Training and education.
NEM Manufacturing supports the NEM Group with technical advice on
manufacturing know-how. Foreign subcontractors also visit our facility
in Scheemda for technical support, to enable production abroad on the
required quality level.
This way NEM is always up to date with the latest developments
in fabrication and welding technology and can thus explain to
new subcontractors how to produce according to NEM Standard
Specifications.
In case one of our subcontractors or clients experiences production
problems, we offer on-site technical assistance.
After Sales Services
The flexibility of the NEM Manufacturing organisation enables NEM
technicians to offer immediate assistance world wide, either in the
form of advice or repairs onsite. NEM Manufacturing has assisted on
projects in the USA, India, Spain, Romania, Germany, the United
Kingdom and the Netherlands.
NEM Manufacturing is increasing its independent activities on the
process market. Fabrication of pressure and non-pressure parts
with a short delivery time is one of the possibilities we offer.

Fabrication area
Our covered area reaches out to 3.500 m2 and is equipped with
overhead cranes. Further we have 1.000 m2 covered storage areas
where we can store your components for “at once” availability. In
total our production and storage facility covers 15.300 m2
Transport facilities
Our manufacturing facility is directly connected to the waterside.
Via this waterway all major Western Europe harbours can be reached
within a few days. This makes it possible to transport large or heavy
components by ship.
