Triangle Park Work to Begin in September The Burbank Gardens Triangle Park Committee met last month to discuss improvements to the park. Preliminary plans and options were discussed. Most important is that we need neighborhood support and help, and we hope work will begin in September. The BGNA has recently completed the Adopt-A-Greenspace process through the City and clearing of the central area of the park will begin shortly. Below is a preliminary rendering of the planned walkways, planters and benches. Lisa Grant, Parks Superintendant and Municipal Arborist for Santa Rosa, is working with the Committee. Several details need to be worked out as our plan is a little more ambitious than the usual applicants for the Adopt-A- Greenspace program. We have the support of several Councilmembers as well. Labor Day Weekend Neighborhood BBQ! at Triangle Park Monday, September 5 2 - 6 PM Bring Something to Throw on the Barbie and a Salad to Share Soft Drinks Provided It has been over a year to get to this point, and, as with anything, it can be frustrating when the process is slow; however, we keep the vision alive and keep moving forward. In the meantime, it still looks like a weedfest and the dumping of furniture and mattresses really makes the job more difficult. Our hope is that if we can clean it up and keep it clean, people will take pride in our little park and the dumping will stop. Thank you to everyone who has helped or volunteered to help clean up the park. The mattresses will be removed (hopefully by the time you read this), and the weeds will need to be cut again. It’s up to us, now, since we adopted this land. We can talk about it more at our barbecue on Labor Day. I hope to see you there. If you cannot make it and still want to help, contact, Isaac Kuster at: [email protected]
