CONSERVATION BY ZOO:
Several animals bred in the Zoo have been rehabilitated in various deer parks and sanctuaries to restock the depleted natural population.
A grey parrot — an exotic bird
that has been adopted by a
technology services company at the
Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
For the bird conservation park, a four-acre site close to the
entrance has been identified and fencing of it is nearing completion. By
different artificial means of breeding this parrot has increased the
number largely in a small period of time
GREY PARROT
TIGER Tiger is the favourite of most donors, bigger animals such as
elephants, bears and even birds have brought in welcome funds for the
menagerie. The zoo has fixed annual maintenance amounts based on the
food, medication and other upkeep charges for a year.
Nature and wildlife lovers, schools and
institutions are also chipping in their
contributions.
The Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, has been
adjudged the best Zoo in the country next only to Mysore Zoo,
by the Central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI). The title comes
because of the sincere efforts of Zoo officials to conserve
endangered species through reproduction (captive breeding),
and providing a better home for the animals and birds.

WHAT IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS..
*Into its 50th year, the zoo, one of the
largest in the country, has got 31 adoptions of animals
with a commitment of Rs. 55 lakh since April 2013. *The major attraction within the zoo, however, is the
Lion Safari. A van barbed with wrought iron takes you through
the gates of the safari — opening one gate at a time — into a
completely different world of wild animals where lions, tigers,
rhinos, wild oxen, panthers, etc.
