Cadi SmartSense Infant Safety is an effective and easy to use active RFID solution to prevent infant abduction and errors in mother and infant matching.

The system is specially designed to help hospital staff easily and automatically match and track an infant and his or her mother, preventing infant abduction. All infants will be registered with an active RFID infant tag which will be securely and comfortably worn on the ankle of the infants using a tamper-alert safety strap. Should there be tampering with the strap or an unauthorised transportation of an infant, the system will alert staff immediately.

The mother will also wear a tag for mother-infant pairing. This enhances security and reduces administrative errors, ensuring that the right infant is given to the right mother at all times especially during feeding or bonding activiities. Before doing so, the mother’s tag will have to match with the infant’s and their exit out of the room will have to be authorised by hospital staff first.

A wireless solution that helps hospitals realize a seamless paperless environment by automating vital signs recording wirelessly. The system saves extra setup cost by leveraging on any existing WiFi infrastructure, vital signs monitors and electronic medical record software.

How it works:Upon admission, all patients are registered and pasted with a ThermoSensor . During vital signs taking, SmartBridge auto-matically receives data via standard RS232 port from the vital signs monitor after each measurement. The clinician then scans the barcode on the patient's wristband for positive patient identification so that Smart-Bridge can post the correct data via WiFi/RFID to the correct medical record in the SmartSense Vital Signs Dashboard or the existing EMR.

In addition, SmartBridge also receives and uploads respec-tive patient temperatures to the correct medical record from ThermoSensors every 30 seconds.

Concurrently, nurses can enter and upload other vital signs such as respiration and pain score wirelessly via Motorola PDA.

About Smart Bridge

When a nurse scans the patient’s wrist band ID using an attached barcode scanner, measurements taken from the connected Vital Signs Monitor will be associated with the patient ID. Subsequently, the SMB-800 will wirelessly upload the patient’s vital signs data to the network via WiFi or ISM band radio. Readings are recorded into the hospital’s central server. If used in tandem with the SmartSense system, hospital personnel will be able to view the patient’s vital signs through its web-based application. The SMB-800 can also upload patients’ vital signs measurements automatically at user-determined intervals, releasing nurses from making manual updates and focusing on other important tasks.

Patient will wear a small disc-like sensing device that can automatically and continuously monitor patient’s temperature and/or location unnoticeably. The data collected will be wirelessly transmitted to receiver nodes. The receiver nodes will then decode the data and send them to a centralized server. All the patient data and information will be recorded and stored in the server. What is WinScribeAt the centre of the WinScribe Dictation product is the intel-ligent management of the dictation files by a central server.

Dictations are created by the author and sent across the Lo-cal Area Network, Wide Area Network or across the internet as electronic files to the WinScribe Server. Here WinScribe is able to identify the document type and who created the dictation. It will then automatically send it to the correct individual or group of transcriptionists based on the prede-fined workflow rules that have been set up on the system.

The WinScribe product has an unrivaled number of input solutions, which include: direct PC input, input from PDAs and Blackberrys, telephone input and input from portable dictation devices.

This flexibility means that the solution can be tailored exactly to your organisation’s needs, lead to improvements in productivity and ultimately improved efficiencies and cost reduction.

Whether your staff are performing ward rounds or taking clinics, WinScribe has a dictation method to support them.

From their desk, they are able to utilize the easy to use Outlook style Author Module enabling them easily to dictate, monitor, recall and edit their dictations from one simple application.

If out and about, they have the choice of a range input methods. Portable digital recorders, such as the Philips DPM range, allow the author to choose document type and priority while dictating on the move.

Blackberrys and PDAs can have an Author application installed on them allowing for real time or batch download of dictations.

If offsite, the WinScribe Telephony Module will allow for real time dictation by just dialing a number and using the keypad to operate the record and playback functionality. As soon as you hang up, the dictation is with your secretary ready for transcription, no matter your geographical location.
