Neal Black, chitarrista e cantante texano, ha trascorso gli ultimi 30 anni elettrizzando il pubblico in tutto il mondo con la sua fusione di Blues, Rock, Jazz e Country.Definito dalla critica “The Master of High Voltage Texas Boogie”, ha ricevuto da Rolling Stone recensioni a 4 stelle per i suoi primi due album ed è stato definito da John Swenson (giornalista musicale del “The New York Free Press”) “one of the most important Blues songwriters /performers on the sce-ne today”.

Il Blues di Neal Black narra di vere storie di vita, non è qualcosa che puoi imparare dai libri, come un vero bluesman lui vive il suo blues, le sue storie raccontano di difficili periodi vissuti in Texas, a New York e in Messico.Cantanto con una voce che sta tra Tom Waits e Howling Wolf, il suo blues è intriso di una profonda rabbia, una dolce malinconia e dalla fumosa chitarra che brucia come una Tequila Sunrise.

Nel 1980 è costantemente presente sulle scene musicali texane aprendo i concerti per Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Omar & The Howlers, Johnny Copeland, George Thorogood, Leon Rus-sell, Paul Butterfield, Lou Ann Barton, Rick Derringer, Lonnie Mack, Sir Douglas Quintet, Savoy Brown, The Nighthawks, …studiando contempo-raneamente al The Southwest Guitar Conservatory sotto l’insegnamento dei grandi artisti jazz Barney Kessel, Lenny Breau, Herb Ellis e Jacky King.

Nel 1990 si trasferisce a New York dove velocemente si guadagna la reputazione di “Top Guita-rist/ Performer / Songwriter”, qui Neal non solo si esibisce con il suo progetto “The Healers” ma anche con Popa Chubby, Joan Osborne e The Holmes Brothers in interminabili jam session.

Nel 2000 si sposta in Messico dove trascorre ben 3 anni in tourneè esibendosi in tutto il circuito degli Hard Rock cafè e Festival Blues, diventa professore di musica alla Pan American Univer-sity, collabora con il leggendario artista cubano Jose Fors & la sua band Forsteps e realizza il tanto acclamato Dreams are for Losers.

Dal 2004 risiede in Francia esibendosi regolarmente in tutta Europa con la sua band “Neal Black & The Healers” e lavorando come produttore, scrittore e chitarrista per altri artisti incluso Blues Conspiracy, Fred Chapellier, Leadfoot Rivet, Nico Wayne Toussaint, Mason Casey, Drin-khouse Preachers, Randy.

Il 2011 segna l’arrivo di Sometimes the Truth una vera pietra miliare nella sua carriera che con-ferma il talento di questo grande bluesman.Un lavoro registrato in parte a New York nello studio del buon amico di Neal, Popa Chubby (la cui voce appare in ben tre tracce e la chitarra in ben 5) e una parte in Europa con la collaborazione di Frenchies Nico “Wayne” Toussaint e Fred Chapellier.

John Swenson dice di lui “Neal Black è uno dei più importanti artisti americani Blues contempo-ranei...la sua musica è legata alla tradizione texana ma lui non è un imitatore ma un innovatore.
