Management — art or science? (Or both?)

Management , may be addressed USA , Japan and Romania , is also an ART and a SCIENCE.

It is an “ART " because it requires power of judgment and adaptability to changing circumstances , many of which occur due to the actions of other people.

Management is also a “SCIENCE " because it was studied and found to have certain physical laws and rules that.

Management functions

We could say that there is one main function , managers determined that things happen in a certain way.

Managers are everywhere to transform business objectives into reality. Good specialists may exist in the enterprise, but they can not engage in any activity without instructions from managers. Typically , managers running their superiors requirements , but not always. In many cases managers are allowed to take the initiative to determine what should be produced , how to produce , when , etc.

Those are interested in studying management of human activities, as well as sociologists . So, management is a positive and social science .

Management is extremely important in modern enterprises . Today we don”t have that business which we had in 1900 . Only due to the development and management companies today are operating efficiency and profitability .

Manager determines things happen by planning , organization , guidance and control. In addition, managers are those who solve , identify problems and opportunities .

One way to integrate theory with practice in class study is byresorting to case studies .

The cases will be presented to students as often as possible to allow them to introduce a framework to understand how business theory presented can be applied in " everyday life " .
