Review your I-20/DS 2019 and pay the SEVIS Fee atwww.fmjfee.comif you require an i-20/DS 2019 and it is not included in this package,
please complete your Certificate of Eligibility Application Form
(i-20/DS 2019) and send in the supporting documents as soon as
possible. Transfer students should make arrangements for their current
i-20/DS 2019 to be released to Temple university after submitting the
Certificate of Eligibility Application (i-20/DS 2019). This form can be

Activate your AccessNet Account• Activate your Temple university AccessNet Account as soon as
you receive your acceptance package.
• Activate your official TUmail email account (all important university
communication is sent via Tumail).
Complete Placement Testing and New Student QuestionnaireAll incoming freshman students must complete English and Math
Placement Testing before they arrive at Temple university. both tests
can be taken online. The link for the online Placement Testing and New
Student Questionnaire (NSQ) system will be mailed to you beginning in
April after you have submitted your deposit. The purpose of the
Placement Testing is to determine your level in the first year writing
course and math course. The test must be taken without assistance
from others and whatever the score, it will not affect your admission.
Reserve your place for the mandatory New International Student Orientation and RegistrationThe New international Student orientation and registration is
August 10–17. register at <www.temple.edu/isss> and click on
Future Students then Orientation.
Request a Room in University Housingif you would like a room in university Housing, you must first submit
the $250 housing deposit in addition to your tuition deposit. Please visit
<www.temple.edu/housing> to learn more about the selection process
and our facilities. room selection is based on availability. Please make
arrangements as early as possible before leaving your home country.

Visit the Campusif you are able to visit Philadelphia this Spring, you are invited to attend one
of our "Experience Temple" events for admitted students. once you have
received your admission decision, you'll receive an invitation by email.
international students are invited to a special session to meet current
students and find out about international student life at Temple university.
Please arrive on August 10, 2013Arriving on August 10th will give you adequate time to recover from jetlag,
register for classes with an advisor, acclimate to your new surroundings,
meet other new students, and take care of any logistical needs before
classes begin. The uS government allows international students to enter
the country up to 30 days before the program start date indicated on your
i-20/DS 2019.
Transportation from the Philadelphia international Airport (PHL) to Temple
university will be available August 10. register for free airport pick-up at
<www.temple.edu/isss>.

Arrive on August 10 and check-inWhen you arrive in Philadelphia, you should plan on going directly to
Johnson & Hardwick Residence Hall, which is located at 2029 North
Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA (#27/28 on campus map).
Note: if you have arranged for university Housing after orientation
Week, you need to also apply for early arrival at your permanent
accommodation. To move-in early on August 17, you must make a
request. visit <www.temple.edu/housing> and click on On-Campus Living,
then Early Arrival for information about how to submit a request.
After completing the request, you will receive special instructions for
early move-in.
Check-in with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)once you have deposited your luggage and recuperated from your
travels, you should visit the iSSS office to check-in. bring your Passport,
i-20, i-94 card and a copy of the SEviS fee payment receipt.

Enroll in Health InsuranceTemple university requires all international students to carry major
medical health insurance. for more information about insurance
requirements and programs available for purchase, please visit
<www.temple.edu/hr/students>. it is strongly recommended that you
purchase travel health insurance before you leave your home country.
The travel insurance should be valid through the first week of class,
during which time you will have the opportunity to enroll in Temple’s
student insurance program.

44. 1700 North Broad Street is home to the International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS – room 203B) and the Intensive English Language Program (IELP – room 211).
16. Conwell/Carnell Hall is where the Admissions, Registrar’s Office, and Bursar’s offices are located. Students who pay their bill by cash, credit card, money order or traveler’s check will need to visit the Bursars office to pay their bill. Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Research Scholars can find the Postdoctoral Fellows Office on the 5th Floor in the Graduate School.
50A. Howard Gittis Student Center/Bookstore is a central building to student life on campus. Students with questions about Temple can go to the information desk. It is a popular lunch spot which has many different kinds of food. Downstairs is the bookstore, Parking Services, Post Office/UPS, and banking services. Many fun events are held at the Student Center!
66. The Welcome Center/TECH Center is a new building which houses over 700 computers for student/scholar use! Visit the Help Desk (room 106) on the first floor for problems accessing Temple computer programs such as e-mail (TUMail), TUPortal, or Blackboard. The Help Desk can help configure laptops or wifi devices to use Temple’s wifi network. The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) provides teaching assistance for faculty and the Instructional Support Center (ISC) provides classroom technological assistance for faculty.
36. Paley Library houses 3 million books on 28 miles of shelving — a quiet place to study or to use computers.
40. Ritter Complex is where important meetings are held in either Walk Auditorium Ritter Hall or KIVA Auditorium Ritter Annex.
45A. The Diamond Dollars Office is where students receive their Temple ID cards (OWLcards). Students who lose their ID will have to come to this office and pay a replacement fee to receive a new card.
