JACK SIGISMONDIAs a Racer what has been the most difficult thing to overcome?

The most difficult thing for me to overcome Id have to say is my self. That’s the best part of racing it’s just you and your bike so when you don’t perform you don’t have 10 other players to look at when you lose, as in football or something. It’s all on you, my nerves have always been a huge issue, I think way to much haha.

With Arenacross right around the corner, what expectations do you have for yourself?

January 10th that’s all I can think about at the moment, round one!!! I’m really looking forward to this year, coming in prepared for 2015. I had just recently worked a deal out with a trainer Troy Adams to keep me on track and give me a base to build off. I’m going to have really great bikes and unlike last year I already have them so I can actually practice not show up at the first round and try to ride something I’ve never seen. I believe my program is strong I have a great trainer that I trust and believe in his ability as well as awesome equipment and a supportive family. Not much more I can ask for it’s all up to me!! I can’t wait to really get to the grind these next few months and get to the first round have good times for get picks and just ride like I am capable of and I know the results will come.

How did you become a motocross trainer? And what do you enjoy the most about it?

Becoming a trainer was honestly out of the blue, I just got a call one day asking if I’d like to coach kids at a local track and I accepted. Never have I expected for me to be so well liked by the parents and have so much fun doing it. Turns out I can teach kids really good, seeing a young rider progress and jump something for the first time or rail a rut is priceless. The smile says it all not just from the rider but from the parents as well.

In the past you talked about your possible involvement with FMX, any updates?

Right now I put that on hold, I really need to focus on 2015 and do things by the book to make me the best I can be. Fmx will be there for me anytime I mean I live with the guy who runs majority of the events across the country haha, so needless to say I don’t have to fight for a job when I want one. Racing is my first love and this year I have something to prove I’ve never been this motivated before.

Most riders have some meaning behind their bike number....is there something behind the number 231?

well growing up my dad was 23 for as long as I can remember, I just wanted to be like him so I was originally 23. 231 came about when I signed up for a series that there was someone signed up before me with the number 23 so I had to add a number it change it completely. Making me officially @that231kid haha Every rider knows it takes a team of supporters to make it in this sport, who would you like to thank?

oh man there’s a ton I hope I don’t miss anyone and if I do this is my pre apology haha first off my Mom and Dad, I say it everytime I wouldn’t be here without their support throughout the years, JT Racing for sticking with me and keeping me apart of a great company, Tampa MX for a great place to ride and train myself as well as other on Tuesday night schools check them out!! Clay Gulley, located near Sarasota, Florida, is a private sand track owned and maintained by Josh Graber. Tucked away from the main road, the track hosts sandy berms, rhythm lanes and a huge step up. Friends gather to enjoy a great day of riding and enjoy eachothers company. Riders like Paul Smith (pro FMX), Jason Lawrence, and Dean Wilson have also found their way there. NDA has

had the privilege of filming at Clay Gulley on sev-eral occasions. Always nice to be in the company of Shawn and Christina, Dillon and Dollie, Brian Cici and Josh himself. Everyone is always respectful and in good spirits. Please keep in mind though, as with most private tracks , you have to be invited.

Back in 2013, The NDA Team made a few trips up to Area51 and the IDOFMX Compound. There was never a bad day of filming from either of these locations. With riders like Paul Smith, Ben Mabee, TJ Tiffany, Austin Dummond and Carl Richie the energy was always on high. Before Area51 was shut down, Paul had developed a great facilty for the Florida FMX scene. From dirt jumps to multiple ramp set-ups, the place was amazing

to visit, and even more amazing to capture. Later Paul relocated and re-built the IDOFMX Compound on a lot right across from his home. Great memories there as NDA worked side-by-side with Troy Zeigler (Elevated Visuals), Coby Wilson (Aerial MX) capturing everything from whips to fire flips. But, like all good things, the compound came to an end, and Paul Smith left Florida to continue to wow audiences from his new home-base in Las Vegas.

DIGITAL DIRTCreating tracks for MXSimulator and MX Vs ATV Reflex has been a crazy experience. I’m learning more about design and layout with each new track. The very first track I can recall making was for Motocross Madness, and it was terrible, but a learning process none the less. From there I went on to make tracks for MCM2, I only pub-lished one of them...Rosco Piko Park. After that I messed around with the track creator on MX Unleashed, never published any tracks for that, but recall having fun making the 2006 San Fransisco SX track. It was the last track for a long time. It wasn’t till I came across a game called MX Simulator that I decided to give it another try. My first release was The Test Facility, and it was the most ridiculous thing I have ever created. In my defense, I was more worried about how to make the tracks verses what it actually looked like....and it was so over proportioned that it got a really good laugh and blunt comments from many of the patrons of the game. But it was all a learning experience, and moved on to make Sunshine MX, East Bay Supercross, The Test Facility 2, and Tampa MX.

Through a long process the team at MCM2Boys and Twisted Dirt had found a way to modified the files for MX vs ATV Reflex (pc), which would allow creators to add custom tracks, even bike and rider skins. Its been a total blessing for those that love Reflex and or just suck at MXS (a very tough game). Being able to create tracks for one of my favorite mx games has been awesome. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel Im improving with every track. So far my track list for Reflex is Freebergs test track, East Bay Supercross, Bartow MX, Test Facility 2, and as of the writing of this article, working on Tampa MX. The Marley Edition would be my first Skin Pack for Reflex.

Its a fun and creative outlet that I dont see myself stopping anytime soon. ~Poidog

NIC JENKINSQuickly proving that he has what it takes, Nic Jenkins puts in the work. During our first shoot with Nic, he was aboard a Honda and one of his core sponsors was H&R Powersports, which led him to prior SX east lites cham-pion and trainer, Ronnie Tichenor. Together they would show what hard work and dedication can produce. Taking countless podiums in the I4MX series, Jenkins is motivated, and when he throws his leg over, he charges the field with confidence. Progressing in the sport of motocross takes ab-solute dedication and support, and Nic has both. His family and sponsors

supports his efforts 150% and it shows.

Nic is now riding a Yamaha and is backed by Hollywood Racing . Looking forward to seeing him out there ripping it

up with a whole new look.

RACE READY FITNESS HAWAII DIVISION

Chris Cousins, founder and owner of Race Ready Fitness has been a big part of NDA’s start up. Our first encounter with Chris was up close and far to personal...haha, He had come off of a jump wrong a blew over a berm, which Poidog was standing on the other side, but he did manage to control the bike well enough not to collide with the filmer. Since that day both Chris and Poidog would become great friends. Chris had introduced NDA to Ricky Renner, Darius Glover, RJ Hampshire and many more, which has sparked the suc-cess of NDA. A once Florida based company Chris has taken RRF to Hawaii. Set up was dif-ficult but he managed to meet the right peo-ple and has had positive growth in the islands. Occasionally we catch up on the phone, but we are looking forward to day we can hang out once again.

BEHIND THE SHOOTwith

Working with one of the best graphics and seat cover company’s in the moto industry was a high point for us. Our first shoot was for a small commercial that highlighted some of the process that goes into making of their seat covers. Mike McNamee and the whole team at Enjoy MFG was fun to work with. Robby Renner keep things lighthearted with several hi-jinx through out the filming.

The next shoot was sponsored by Enjoy MFG., Renner5322 (see on page 27). The Renner shoot featured both Ricky Renner and Leah Renner. Coby Wilson of Aerial MX was also on hand to capture the action. The shoot took place in two locations, Tampa MX and Skytop, the weather was brutal at times, but it did not stop the duo from doing what they do best.

Shifting Gears

motocouple Kyle Vibbert and Ashley Jones are the couple behind MotoCouple. Kyle, who still races around the Florida State, also works with other riders as a trainer. Both Kyle and Ashley love the sport of motocross and enjoy the times when they are able to load up and get a few laps in together. The past few years have really tested the couples bond, and through all the ups and downs they still find each other at the end of the day. Ear;y 2013, NDA first met

Kyle out at a local track, we still remember how motivated and charged he was about riding. After talking with Christian from Chronic MX, NDA decided to do a short interview for the Life is Moto series (a Chronix MX/NDA series). We met up at the now gone Dirty Foot Adventures Park, where Kyle and Ashley were out training. It was a great shoot, and seeing how they were together just made you smile. Were they a perfect couple...nope. But they are a lot of fun to be around. They both showed so much passion for the sport, so later we got together again to do a full interview video for NDA Action Sports, and its still one of my favorites to watch. For 2014, things have shifted a bit and new paths are forming for them. But make no mistake, they still ride as often as possible, race when they can and still show that they are a MotoCouple.
