What does needs improvement look like:

Question:

Hey coach,

I wanted to see what you think about a text I got that said I am being put in the 2016 magazine of top prospects and I should go to Orlando February 8th to be in their combine. I was just wandering if you think it is a money maker or actually a good opportunity for me? Also, when will I be getting my video from NCSA because I think it has been 16 days since I sent it to them? Thank you and I hope you had a good holiday and happy New Year!

HRC Response:

Preston, I will check on your video. Make sure you check on that magazine and make sure they are not just trying to get your money.

What does good look like:

Question:

My name is Jacob Thompson, what is a roster opening? Do you suggest I email those coaches? Thanks, Jake

HRC Response:

Hi Jacob, Thank you for reaching out! I’m happy to help you with this today. Great question! Roster openings are ultimately a recruiting job board for you. 43

How does the Matching Process work?

The Matching Process is based on 4 pieces of information

1. Your Preferences: Edit Profile>Preferences” 1. This is where you tell NCSA what YOUR looking for in a college. This is where you select

which: i. States/Regions

ii. Academic Selectivity iii. Enrollment iv. College Setting v. College Type

vi. Majors 2. Video/ Stats:

i. This is conducted by a head recruiting coach in that sport who will evaluate the athlete athletically to help idenitfy their best athlete recruiting opportunities.

ii. For sports that are “Non- Video” iii. Non-Video Sports: Swimming, Track, Golf, Rowing

3. Academics (Test Scores and GPA): i. 2 Score Combined SAT ( Math and Reading)

ii. Unofficial Transcripts 4. College Coach Preferences:

i. What grad years are colleges currently recruiting ii. What type of athlete are they looking for based on:

1. Height/Weight 2. Position 3. Region/State 4. Stats 5. Athletic Rating

*Once the athlete has been evaluated and matched with the schooled that could provide them the most potential recruiting opportunities they will receive the list of schools their profile has been sent to. This is a great opportunity for the student athlete to reach out and introduce themselves to the college coaches!
