Librarians sharing ideas, expertise, and costs to produce a high-quality summer reading program for children.

Some Basics:

Sally Snyder is your state representative to CSLP, she is also the current President of CSLP

Each participating state has one person designated as the “state representative”

Basics continued :

Karen Drevo, Norfolk Public Library, is one of two children’s librarians representing Nebraska, she is also current Chair of the Vendor Committee.

Basics continued:

Beth Trupp, Gering Public Library, is the second children’s librarian representing Nebraska, she currently serves on the Children’s Manual committee and the Adult Manual committee.

The Cooperative Summer Library Program Began in 1987

With 10 Minnesota Regional Library Systems.

Evaluation of proposed reading incentives Request ideas from community librarians for

the various manuals (children, teen, adult) Request slogan and concept ideas from

CSLP conducts business at its Annual Meeting

Dues $65 base plus $2 per public library in the state

3 votes per state Vote on the top 5 suggestions for slogan

CSLP conducts business at Board Meetings

Board meetings usually are conference calls to keep the organization moving ahead, they are held bimonthly

Each Committee Chair sends a report to the Board prior to each meeting.

Committee Chairs ask for items to be put on the agenda, as needed

CSLP conducts business at Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are conference calls to discuss issues and make decisions, they are held as needed

Committee business is usually conducted via email.
