About us

National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India Limited

(NCDFI), established in 1970, is an apex body of

dairy/oil cooperatives. Its members include federal

dairy cooperatives of states / union territories and

National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) as its

institutional member.

The primary objective of NCDFI is to facilitate the

working of dairy cooperatives through coordination,

networking and advocacy.

Major activities of the NCDFI are: Coordination of milk

and milk product supplies to Defence Services;

Providing Online Marketplace for Dairy Industry; and

working for genetic improvement of cattle.

Total business transacted by the NCDFI during 2017-18

was ₹ 2,057 crores.

Adoption of technology and its application to ensure

better returns to dairy cooperatives and in turn to milk

producers has been the primary focus of NCDFI. One

such initiative is NCDFI eMarket which was launched

on June 10, 2015.

NCDFI eMarket facilitates the bulk sales of dairy

commodit ies and procurement of required

/Chemicals for Raw/Packing Dairy/Cattlefeed plants.

This platform ensures transparent, fair, economic and

faster dealings for all the members.

N provides technical & CDEX eMarkets Ltd (NeML),

Business Development support to NCDFI eMarket.

A Rupee saved is a Rupee earned. With this age-old adage in mind, added with the

advantage of exploring the national level markets enabled with technology and

transparency, we at KMF adopted NCDFI eMarket since June 2015 initially to dispose

the bulk stocks like SMP, WMP and Butter and later on to procure monthly raw material

requirements of cattle feed plants.

Earlier, to procure cattle feed raw materials we used to rely upon eProcurement portal

of Karnataka Government. Presently, we are conducting eAuctions on NCDFI eMarket

platform along with eProcurement portal for the same requirement with a gap of one

day, and comparing both the results to finalize least rates for KMF. This has proven to

be a boon for KMF with regard to huge cost saving considering broad level of

participation from across the nation.

Similarly, to dispose bulk stocks of SMP, WMP and Butter we are using NCDFI eMarket

platform as it offers extensive level of transparency and nationwide participation.

Considering the advantages of NCDFI eMarket platform we are even contemplating to

expand the service of NCDFI eMarket to procure annual requirements of packing

material, minerals and chemicals.

We whole heartedly congratulate NCDFI for their cooperation throughout the journey

so far. We wish this will continue for years to come which in turn benefit millions of milk

producing farmers across the state the real owners of this cooperative setup there by

helping KMF in its mission of bringing rural prosperity.
