2013 NATIONAL TEACHER OF THE YEARFRIDAY 3.20 G 8:30amWHAT IF?
High powered rockets, robotics, 3D printers, laser cutters, college credit for high school courses; all of these started by the power of asking “What if…” If it can be done in Zillah, Washington, then it can be done in your school. The bigger question is: When your “what if” comes true, will you be ready?

THURSDAY 3.19 G 8:30amCOLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS IN A COMMON CORE WORLD
Since the release of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), there has been a great deal of attention devoted to the concept of college and career readiness. Now more than ever, we are equipping educators with tools in their toolbox to personalize instruction and help their students graduate college and be career ready. With tools like the Lexile Framework, educators are able to monitor literacy growth and differentiate instruction during the K-12 career of a student. Learn how the Lexile Framework is helping educators and parents quantify college and career readiness and the strategies that are being used to guide them on a path towards success.

POPULAR WORKSHOPS WILL FILL UP. MAKE SURE YOU SECURE YOUR SEAT!All workshops are two-hours, hands-on, and are included in your conference registration. If you were pre-registered for a workshop, you will have received a workshop ticket on your badge sheet. Workshops have a limited seating capacity. In order to fairly accommodate all hands-on workshop participants, the five-minute rule will apply. Pre-registered workshop attendees must be in the workshop five-minutes prior to the beginning of the workshop, or you will lose your seat, and it will then be open to other attendees. At FIVE minutes before the workshop start time, all seats will be open on a first-come, first-seated priority.

In November of 1970 NCCE was a conference for Oregon educators to assess the needs of mathematics in education. Today, we have grown to over 4000 members and are home to the largest education conference in the Northwest leading, engaging and assisting educational communities to reach higher levels of student and educator success through the use of 21st Century technology.
The Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program at NCCE offers free professional learning opportunities for K-12 educators which are funded by a grant from the Library of Congress. Workshops are available to educators with a focus on digitized primary sources and materials from the Library of Congress. In 2014 over 300 educators participated in NCCE Library of Congress trainings.
In January 2014, NCCE was the recipient of the Technology to Improve Teaching and Learning (TITL) grant through the US Virgin Islands Department of Education. NCCE is working with 36 public school educators and administrators from St Thomas to implement technology integration into classroom instruction. This three-year program will have a lasting impact on the educators and their classrooms.
NCCE has been the premier provider of the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) training across the US. We have nearly 50 trainers specialized in Microsoft professional learning traveling from coast-to-coast training technology professional development leaders and trainers who work with teachers to integrate technology. Over 4500 educators have benefited from this free program.

The DigitalEdge Purchasing Program at ESD 112 provides competitively bid contracts on educational technology equipment that are available to “eligible purchasers” in twelve western states. Products include Chromebooks, wireless tablets, projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, clickers, sound amplification and many more technology solutions. Purchasers should check their governing laws to determine eligibility, if necessary. The DigitalEdge website at digitaledge.esd112.org provides the link to complete an interlocal agreement. Washington Learning Source (WLS) is a statewide program developed by Washington’s nine regional Educational Service Districts. WLS works with vendors and ESDs to provide Washington’s school districts a wide variety of products, including software, equipment, and services, at great prices. A one-time free membership is required.
