Public Hearing February 10, 2014 NON-ACTION ITEMS Two 5 th graders from Seele Elementary – Abigail Gonzalez and Colin Davidson - led the pledges at the beginning of the Board meeting. Olivia Morante and Christian Krueger, seniors at NBHS, were recognized as the Students of the Month for February 2014. Adam Bays, the January 2014 Student of the Month, was also in attendance and recognized by the board. He was unable to attend last month’s meeting. The following Outstanding Students and Educators were honored: Special Olympics State Gold Medalists in Bowling – Jose S. (NBMS), Diamond G. (NBMS), David C. (NBHS) and Nicole M. (NBHS) Special Olympics State Silver Medalists in Bowling – McKayla R. (NBHS) and Quinn P. (NBMS) Special Olympics State Bronze Medalists in Bowling – Joanie W. (NBHS) and Colton M.   NON-ACTION ITEMS Two 5th graders from Seele Elementary – Abigail Gonzalez and Colin Davidson - led the pledges at the beginning of the Board meeting. Olivia Morante and Christian Krueger, seniors at NBHS, were recognized as the Students of the Month for February 2014. MANAGEMENT Action Items Approved Contracts/Contract Extensions for Administrators and Administrative Professional Support

Approved Order of Trustee Election for District #2 and District #4 to be held May 10, 2014. Early voting

will be held April 28, 2014, through May 6, 2014.

Approved Approval of election judges for the May 10, 2014 election. Voting will be held at three sites on Election Day. Early voting by personal appearance will be held at the Comal County Commissioners Court Building, 178 E. Mill St., New Braunfels, Texas.

Approved NBHS band purchase of 27 supplemental marching band uniforms at a cost of $6,210 plus shipping cost from Fred J. Miller, Inc. This expenditure will be paid for from the committed fund balance account designated for uniform purchases.

Approved 2013-2014 General Fund Budget Amendment to allow for an increase in the General Fund appropriations of $6,210 to fund additional band uniforms. The proposed amendment to the Food Service Fund will increase the budget by $33,000. The purpose of this amendment is to fund one half the cost of the replacement cooler/freezer at the high school.

Approved Investment Reports for the Second Quarter of 2013-2014

Approved In-kind discount of $110,000 from Apple issued with recent iPad purchase. This credit will be used to purchase 85 desktop computers that will replace a majority of the teachers’ computers at the middle school campuses.
