Slokam in English :

Background:

After Sitapiratti being captured by Ravana, Sri Ramar commanded Hanuman to seek for her and asked him to find where Ravanan had kept her a prisoner. As the command got from Sri Ramar, Hanuman started to seek for Sitapiratti, and came to the seashore. But, all would know that crossing the big sea is not very easy job. At that time, Jambhavaan, the bear king explained about the hidden talent of Hanuman that he is the only person who can cross the huge sea and help Sri Ramar to get back Sitapiratti.

After hearing the motivating words from Jambhavaan, Hanuman started to fly over the sea to see Sitapiratti.

The Inner Message:

It is said that Hanuman has the power to defeat all the enemies as a single person. And since, Ravanan took Sitapiratti through the skyway, he also wanted to follow him on the same way.

The special explaination:

The above mantram is the first mantram in Sundara Kaandam and is said to be found in the midst of Ramayanam. And this mantra is said to be equivalent to the Gayathri Mantram. Because of this, this Mantra is said to be more special in midst of other Sundara Kaandam slokas.

Page 3: NavaratnaSlokam_Sundarakandam Part 2

This sloka is said to be the Hridhayam (Heart) or center point of Ramayanam and has an immense message to say to this world.

Sri Ramar is referred to as the Para Brahma Swaroopam and Sitapiratti is referred to as the Jeevan that is being separated from the Para Brahman. This small Jeevan (Sitapiratti) is pleasing to get united to the Parabrahmam and for that, we need a person like an Aacharyan. It is said that the best way of attaining the Aandavan (Perumal) is through an Aacharyan. Here, Hanuman acts as an Aacharyan, thereby helping Sitapiratti (a Jeevan) to get united with Sri Ramar (Parabrahmam).

The above slokam greatly explains about the greatness of Hanuman.

Connection with Navagraham:

The main graham that is related to Gayathri Mantra is the Suryan, the Sun God. The sky way is the street (lane) for Suryan and Hanuman is said to be the Sishyan (student) of Suryan. Because of this, he might know the way and that's the reason why he was sent. So, this first mantram is related to Suryan and the rathnam (stone) for Suryan is Maanickam. So, by doing Parayanam of this sloka, we can reach Sri Ramar, Hanuman and Surya Bhagavan too and doing so, our life will be bright like the sun.

Background:

During his way towards Lanka, Hanuman faced lots of problems. Initially, there was a huge sea, which he needs to cross to enter Lanka. During his progress, a huge mountain named “Mainagam” aroused from the sea and stopped the way. But, by his strength he demolished the mountain and continued his journey towards Lanka. After sometime, a big water snake by name “Surasa” emerged out from the water and stopped the path. Hanuman cleared the snake and as an another obstacle, a Rakshashi (demon) by named “Saayakrahi” asked Hanuman can cross the sea only by going through her mouth. But, having a strong aim and strength, Hanuman could overcome all these obstacles. On seeing these great qualities of Hanuman, all the Devars in the Deva Lokam praised Hanuman through the above mantram.

The Inner Message:

The great qualities like Sharp – mind, mind strength, the strongness in the aim (or) goal to achieve and the action performed to attain it of Hanuman are well explained in the above mantram. Likewise, if a person who has all the above said qualities can achieve all the things he needed and can overcome any obstacles in the life like Hanumanji.

Connection with Navagraham:

Page 5: NavaratnaSlokam_Sundarakandam Part 2

All the great qualities that are said are related and associated to the inner soul (or) mind. Chandran is the Graham who is responsible for one's great mind and the action of it. And the rathnam for Chandran is Muthu. And this Muthu will origin only from the sea, which is crossed by Hanuman. So, this Mantram is related to Chandran and Muthu.

By doing Parayanam of this Mantram, one can be strong in his mind and body and also can overcome any kind of hurdles in the life.

enters the palace of Ravanan and searches of Sita piratti. He searches for Sita piratti in all the places for a long time. But he could not find her. Because of this, he becomes mentally and physically tired. But, in a fraction of time, he eradicates all these tiredness and starts searching for Sita Piratti with lots of energy and Fastness.

The Inner Message:

Activeness, enthusiasm etc., are some of the objects that are used as the basement for major wealth and higher level of achievement. Being lazy will not bring anything to our life.

Fastness in our action, activeness should be there in our life and through that we could attain anything.

Hanuman says the above mantram for him to get energy, activeness etc. Simultaneously, this mantram is also for this entire human community.

Connection with Navagraham:

Angaragan is the one among the Navagrahas who is responsible for riding away the sorrow in our life. Sorrow, poverty are some of the negative part of anyone's life. So, he is one of the Navagrahas who can make us to get out of poverty, sorrow etc., in our life.

By doing Parayanam of the above said Mantram, we can get out of the sorrow, and get out of Chevvai dosham, to achieve victory over everything; and all kinds of property will reach us etc.

Hanuman searches for Sita Piratti in all the places but he could not find her. But, during that time, a flash of idea arises. (i.e.) he can perform any kind of search to find Sitapiratti, but at the same time, the blessings of God must be there to support him. So, in that instance, he thinks of all gods and asks them to bless him and bless him with the victory to find Sita Piratti.

The Inner Message:

Hanuman worships Sri Raman, Sita piratti and Lakshmanan as his prime deities followed by Rudran, Indiran, Yaman, and vaayu, Chandran, Suryan and Maruthkanangal. The above mantram explains this well. After saying this mantram only, Hanuman could able to see the Ashoka Vanam, where Sitapiratti is captured. This is the mantram, which lead the victory path for Hanuman to see Sita

piratti. This mantram is greatly called as "Ramatharaka Mantram" by great saints and pre- generation peoples.

Connection with Navagraham:

Budhan is the Navagraham for the mind. By the Anugraham (blessings) of Budhan, our mind gets cleared and will have a clear vision to go where and where not. So, this Mantram is related to Budhan and the gem for him is Maragatham (green).

Budhan, one among the Navagraham is related to brain and its activities such as memory, communication, intuition, the intellect, and the ability to learn.

It increases intelligence and brainpower, removes and cures fickle-mindedness, loss of memory, stammering, fear from souls and spirits, cools the harsh speech.

Mercury enhances psychic powers, improves memory and learning, strengthens the nervous system, and provides protection against snakes and envious people.

By chanting this mantram, we are blessed with Budhan thus by getting great Intelligence, Mind Power, Communication skills, etc like Hanuman. So, chant this mantra and get the complete blessings of Hanuman and Budhan.

Background:

After seeing Sita Piratti in the Ashoka Vanam, Hanuman was terribly happy. But, at the same time, he could easily understand the problem what Sita Piratti is facing in the midst of the Arakkis (Demons). Hanuman tries to convince Sita Devi through his polite words, but at that time, Ravanan arrives to Ashoka Vanam and asks Sita piratti to marry him. But, Sita Devi doesn't even see his face and treats him as an ordinary grass (Pul). And, at the same time, her mind thinks of Sri Ramar and because of his absence, she feels for it very much and this mental thought of Sita Piratti and the higher experience is explained through the above mantram.

The Inner Message:

Generally problems that we face are due to the attraction or regression of that particular aspect. And as a result of that, we might get that are might not. If we get that we are happy but at that same time, we worry for that if we could not get that. (ie) if that particular thing gets moved away from us, we feel very bad. In the same way, we get angry on the things what we don't like and this angry later changes to fright.

So, this likes and dislike is the root cause of happiness and sorrow. Great Rishis and Mahans have won against these joy and sorrows (ie) over these this likes and dislikes. Hanuman in this slokam finally says that he really bow down to those Mahans.

Page 10: NavaratnaSlokam_Sundarakandam Part 2

The above mantram is explained through Sita Piratti and this is the main aspect that is well explained in Bhagavath Geetha.

Connection with Navagraham:

This mantram should be considered as the "Gnana Upadesham" from Sita Piratti. For Gnana, Guru Bhagavan is the moola (main) graham and this mantram is related to Guru Bhagavan. Pushparagam is the relevant stone for Guru Bhagavan.

So by chanting the above mantram, we get the blessings and Gnana from great Mahans and we can travel through their way to get the Mukthi. Simultaneously, we can have a mental dominance over likes and dislikes, which are the main aspect of happy and sorrow. By the thiruVarul of Guru, we get good respect and favour from others.

Hanuman moves towards Sita Piratti and explains her that he his Hanuman and he is sent by Sri Ramar as a "Diplomat" (thoothuvar).

Sita piratti could not accept him as a person sent by Sri Ramar. But, Hanuman through his great mind and through his beautiful words (that's why he is called as Sollin Selvan") of explanation, explains the beauty of Sri Ramar and it is well explained in this mantram.

The Inner Message:

This mantram explains the body structure, his beautiful walk, the beauty of the eyes etc., of Sri Ramar. He also explains not only the people gets attracted by the beauty of Sri Ramar but also all the Jeeva raasis including all the animals gets attracted towards him.

The person who always thinks good and do all the things in a good way only can explain beautiful things in a better way. By explaining the beauty of Sri Ramar it is well justified that Hanuman can be called with the name "Sollin Selvan".

Connection with Navagraham:

After the great explanation only Sita Piratti gets a faith that Hanuman is sent by Sri Ramar and as a confirmation Hanuman shows the 'Kazayani' (an ornament of Sri Ramar) to Sita Piratti. This particular incident is said to glow like a diamond and this issue gets an Sthanam (place or position) of a diamond. Diamond is the stone related to Sukran. Sukran is referred to as "Vidi Velli". He gives brightness to our lives. This mantram explains that the sorrow of Sita Piratti is going to get vanished and her life is going to get brightened and she is going to be happy ever after.

So, by chanting this mantram, not only our mind gets brightened, but also our body gets brightened and gets good health, tejas, which can attract people and top of it. We get a close relation and bhakti towards Sri Ramarpiran.

After the work for which he is sent to Lanka is over, Hanuman wanted to teach Ravana and his Arakkas (Demon) a good lesson. So, he destroyed the Asokavanam and the troops of Ravanan. He raises the victory sound over Ravana made the entire Lanka to get thunder. The above mantra is the reflection of his victory over Ravanan and his troops.

The Inner Message:

This mantram is explained through Hanuman after the Asokavanam and the Lankan troops are destroyed. The inner explaination of this mantram is that Sri Ramar is a great warrior and a brave person and his brother, Lakshmanan is also a brave person. For them, everything ends only in victory and they do all the things only for the good and Hanuman follows them in the same way.

Connection with Navagraham:

Page 13: NavaratnaSlokam_Sundarakandam Part 2

The victory sound of Hanuman is the first lesson for the entire Arakkas in Lanka.

Since, Sani has caught Sita Piratti for a long time and as a result, she has suffered a lot. Now, he is going to catch hold of Ravana.

History and various Puranams say that Dasarathan is blessed by Sani and being his son, Sri Ramar will also be blessed by him. So, this mantram is related to Sani and Neelam (Blue stone) is the gem for Sani.

By chanting this Mantram, all the doshams that are found because of Sani are vanished and the entire obstacle in our business etc., are cleared.

Jambumali, his great soldiers, Aksha kumaran etc to get Hanuman to his palace. But, Hanuman kills all of them and finally, Indrajith, son of Ravanan strikes hanuman through Brahmastiram. Obeying the asthram, Hanuman comes to the Sabhai (middle of the palace). During that time, Hanuman reveals the truth that he is Rama thoodan (diplomat sent by Sri Ramar) and he warns Ravanan that Sri Ramar will destroy the entire Lanka. On hearing this, Sita Piratti weeps for Hanuman and prays towards Agni Bhagavan. The above mantram is the Prarthana of Sita Piratti.

The Inner Message:

This mantram is explained though Sita piratti. It explains that if (Sita Piratti), I am a true wife of Sri Ramar and if I strongly follow Sri Ramar, let the fire on Hanuman doesn't affect him and let the heat doesn't do anything to him. And because of this mantram, the heat of fire doesn't affect Hanuman.

Connection with Navagraham:

To get cure of disease related to skin, Rakhu is the Navagraham, who can solve it. And because of this power of mantram the fire, which is lit up in the tail of Hanuman, doesn't affect him and doesn't create any burns. So, this mantram is related to Rakhu and the stone for him is Gomedhakam.

By chanting this mantram, it will strength their Mangal sutra (Thirumangalyam) Husbands will not have another eye on other ladies; will not be affected by Panja bhoothams.

Though the fire that is lit on the tail of Hanuman doesn't affect him, he doesn't want to leave Ravanan and his troops. He wanted to teach them a lesson. With his firey tail, he sets fire to the entire Lanka and destroys all the great palaces through the same fire. After this, he once again crosses the sea and comes back to Sri Ramar, Sugreevan etc and says that he has seen Sitapiratti and explains them that he had given strength that she will join along with Sri Ramar soon.

The Inner Message:

This mantram is explained through Hanuman to Sita piratti. He says that Sri Ramar is a great and brave person. He can destroy all the evils and can surely rescue Sita piratti soon. And after the victory over Ravanan, your life in this vanam (forest - the vans vasam) will come to an end and the Pattabhishekam for Sri Ramar is going to happen.

This above mantram doesn't make happy Sita Piratti alone but also gave a great mental strength of Sri Ramar too. This mantram also explains the greatness of Hanuman about his future happening about the Pattabishekam.

Page 16: NavaratnaSlokam_Sundarakandam Part 2

Connection with Navagraham:

To get out of any legal issues or any issues related to rescue, Kethu is the graham that will help us. So, this mantram is related for Kethu. And, another meaning of Kethu is Kodi (flag). Since, Sri Ramar is going to return back to Ayodhya through the Victory flag, it is well suited that this mantram is relevant to Kethu. By chanting this mantram, we get victory over everything, ashta Iyshwaryam, popularity in the midst of society, escape from sorrows, etc.
