KAYENTA, AZ Incident Command Post (ICP) SUMMARY REPORT: NDOH Program staff are responding to with Public Health Services and Functions with the following:
1. Assessment a. Monitor health status to identify and solve community health problems
i. Generate daily updates b. Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community.
2. Policy Development a. Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues.
i. Water safety 1. Human health 2. Animal health
ii. Environmental safety b. Mobilize community partnerships and action to identify and solve health problems.
i. Navajo Nation Divisions 1. DOH Programs – deploy and stand-by personnel
ii. Outreached to NN Veterinary and Livestock Program – Glenda Davis iii. Tribal, Federal, State, and County
c. Develop plans and support individual and community health efforts. i. Develop and manage daily plans and assignments for personnel who are deployed
regardless of agency affiliation. 1. Employee safety 2. Employee hours – record keeping
ii. Align with the major established procedures of the NN DEM. 3. Assurance
a. Link people to needed personal health services b. Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of personal and population-based health services.
4. Research – Linkages between public health practices and research settings.
