Before we start this little e-book we wish to bow down to our Satguru, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda, as without Guru’s blessing nothing is possible. If there is any shortcoming in this humble work of ours, kindly forgive us. Working with yantras, Vastu and sacred geometry already for years, the wish to share a little bit of this profound wisdom of ancient seers awakened within us. There are many ways to connect with the Divine. One of them leads through connecting with the planetary forces in the Universe and connecting with Nature Herself. Colouring or painting the yantras can be one of the most profound sadhanas to connect with Mother Nature, with Shakti, in the form of her planetary energies. The knowledge, which you will find in this book is sacred and it is not only to be read, but also to be meditated on. We hope you will find this inner journey inspiring.

Chapter 1

The art of drawing a yantra Yantras, as we know them today, are the sacred geometric shapes of India, conduits of certain aspects of all-pervading Divine energy. This Divine energy is ever present. It penetrates every atom around us, and it is pervading each cell of our bodies. In today’s times, we can compare this subtle energy to WiFi. But even though WiFi might be present in your home, you need an actual device to connect to it. These sacred “devices”, which connect us to the Higher Source of energy are called yantras. Yantra literally means “a machine, a device, an instrument”. It also means “an amulet” or “a support”. All the yantras were very carefully designed by the ancient rishis of India to support our harmonious connection with the Divine and the world, as well as to protect us from heavier energies and create the sacred space around us. In our age of Internet and commercialisation, when all the sacred knowledge is wide-spread, easily available and, unfortunately, often abused and unappreciated, we can find all sorts of yantras, which we can either print for ourselves or order one from the massive production. And, in our hectic lives, this is often what we do: we want to get the easiest “remedy” possible to find some sort of karmic shortcut in our daily life, hoping that the yantras will magically work on their own, like a pill. Yet, in ancient times, it was never just about getting the yantra. It was never about “using” the Divine energy for our purposes. It was about making a heart connection with the Divine present in that form. Sacred process of drawing a yantra Our Gurudev, Paramahamsa Vishwananda, has revealed, that in ancient times, before even undertaking the process of creating any yantra, people would fast for as long as 40 days. The process of creation of the yantra was a sacred one. Body, mind and spirit needed to be well prepared for that. Body was purified through fasting, mind was purified through chanting the mantras, and spirit was purified through connection with the Divine in meditation. Then, when the time was right and the planetary energies were well aligned with our purpose, the sacred process of drawing or painting the yantra was commenced. In this sacred process, however, it was never about the goal itself. The process was much more important than the end result. We have observed many times,

how many inner processes can be triggered just by such a seemingly simple activity as colouring a yantra. In this process all our dysharmonious energies are once again aligned to the Higher Harmony of the universe. But, above all, we make a true heart connection to the exact planet or aspect of the Divine, we are drawing a yantra for. We invoke the Divine presence into our inner space, we pay our respect to Him or Her, we worship Him/Her and we embrace Him/Her with Love – at the same time embracing with Love this part of ourselves, which She or He represents. In itself this is a very profound meditation. Some of the yantras, indeed, are said to be so powerful, that just a meditation on them can lead us to enlightenment. Our Gurudev had said, that whenever you make a yantra with your own hands, it is infinitely more powerful, as it is infused with your bhakti – and any mistake gets automatically rectified by the power of your devotion. Such a yantra, which is painted with your love and devotion, in the proper state of body, mind and spirit, with utmost care to even the tiniest detail of this sacred process, is a true tool for self-transformation. Only such a yantra can be said to be truly alive. The importance of the mantra Yet, there is one more “secret ingredient” that makes the yantra really alive and turns it into a generator of positive energy. Similarly like any device needs some sort of fuel or electricity to work, in the same way yantra needs to be infused with its respective mantra, so the life can be breathed into it. Our Gurudev said, that the yantra, which is not activated in such a way is just an ordinary piece of paper. It is our devotion, which keeps the energy within a yantra alive. Honouring Mother Nature It is good to keep in mind, that in ancient times only natural materials were used to create or colour the yantras. Colours were always hand-made by the person, who was about to draw or colour the yantra. As difficult as it might be in our times, it is very important that we do at least so little to respect our Mother Earth to at least use 100% vegan pencils or paints, not containing any animal products, neither tested on animals. It is our humble request to you, who are reading this little book to honour the Divnity of the yantra in this way and to make sure that nobody had suffered during the process of you getting your materials for colouring. It is highly disrespectful to the Divine Mother, Shakti Herself to abuse her children (who are animals and plants, as well) in any way.

Also, if you are not strictly vegetarian, please, follow a strictly vegetarian diet (or, ideally, vegan) during the process of drawing or colouring a yantra to pay your respect to Mother Nature. To honour the Divine timing and the cycles of Nature even further, also the right time should be chosen for drawing or colouring a yantra. In case of the yantras of the planets, which are going to be the main topic of this little e-book, it is quite easy, as you only need to choose the right day of the week. Yantras in Vastu Yantras of the planets are some of the most beautiful Jyotish and Vastu remedies. They help us to bring any of our inharmonious planetary influences into balance, by balancing ourselves in the first place and sending our love and devotion to these planetary energies by drawing their yantras, infusing them with mantras, paying our respect to them, and placing them in their respective places in our living space. Planetary yantras are used in Vastu to open our space more for certain planetary influences, or to reduce certain disturbing cosmic radiations. Philosophy behind that is very simple. Coal and diamond are made of the same particles. Yet, lack of harmonious alignment of coal’s atoms makes it dark and ordinary, while diamond, due to the harmonious alignment of its atoms has the capacity to reflect the light and is the most precious stone on our planet. Similarly, when our inner particles are not well aligned, or when our living space is not aligned with our life’s purpose, we are not able to express our true potential – to reflect the Divine light fully. Drawing or painting the yantras is one of the most beautiful processes of realigning our inner particles and inviting more light to our inner and outer space.
