Participants from nations, NATO bodies, academia, and industry come to EA Hackathon to work in competitive environment on the pressing challenges that NATO is facing today. The solutions developed for a set of predefined challenges are kept in the open source domain to enable future development and collaboration. The winning solutions may be deployed within NATO Enterprise to address urgent business needs. 2. The 2017 NATO EA Hackathon offers participants three challenges in the areas of Command and Control, Cyberspace and Verification & Validation, to exploit the emerging concepts and technologies from the domains of Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and the Internet of Things (loT). 3. Participants from NATO bodies, NATO Member and Partner Nations, academia and industry are invited to nominate appropriate representation to the EA Hackathon. Due to limited capacity, the event will be limited to a maximum of 50 participants and registration is on a first come, first served basis. 4. 1. The second NATO Enterprise Architecture (EA) Hackathon will take place from Monday27 to Friday 31 March 2017 in London GBR. EA HACKATHON ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Subject. NATO Enterprise Architecture (EA) Hackathon 2017

2. location. The hackathon event will take place at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) at its EMEA Customer Engagement Center (CEC), 1 Aldermanbury, EC2V 7HR, London GBR.

3. Date and time. The hackathon will begin at 09:00 on Monday 27 March and conclude at 14:00 on Friday 31 March 2017.

4. Industry Engagement. Industry is invited to send mentors to help participants with their work. The company's promotional materials such as shirts, pens, stickers, etc. may be distributed. Because the event is self-supporting, with limited NATO financial support, companies or organizations may also elect to support and promote the event in other ways. To discuss further these or other options contact EA Hackathon Coordinator.

5. Inlernet of Things Challenge. For the loT challenge, companies are welcome to offer their hardware/software platforms to the Hackathon participants. For all the hardware/software platforms offered for the event, permission from the EA Hackathon Administrator needs to be granted in advance.

6. Tidepedia Access. All participants need to have a personal account to the Tidepedia website before registering for the hackathon. An account can be requested by sending a message to [email protected] with the following data, while mentioning that the account is requested for the EA Hackathon:

a. First and last name

b. Organization - including command/agency/company name and country (if applicable)

c. Sponsor (if the organization is non-military)

d. E-mail address - confirmation and instructions will be sent to this address

7. Registration. Participants register per team, considering the information provided in the EA Hackathon Handbook, by sending the following information in a message to [email protected].

a. Team name

b. Team members' names

c. Team members' roles

d. Team suggested allocation (blue or green team - consult the Handbook).

e. Accepted challenge

f. Willingness to team up with other participants (only for teams with one or two players)

8. Attire. The dress code for all participants is business casual.

9. Security. The hackathon is a non-classified event.

10. Language. The event will be conducted in English.

11. Accommodation. Lodging need to be self-arranged by participants. The list of nearby hotels is provided for your convenience on Tidepedia. However this list is not endorsed by ACT nor HPE.

12. Transportation. Transportation needs to be self-arranged by participants. London has an extensive and affordable network for public transport.

13. Social Event. There will be a no-host "icebreaker" reception on Monday 27 March from 18:00 to 20:00. Further details will be promulgated closer to the event.
