art of working with copper over

many centuries. Added to this is the

environmental sensibility of using

copper recycled from electrical wiring,

water pipes, and other sources, which

is melted down, shaped, and hand

hammered to perfection.

COPPER TILE COLLECTION


In the 16th century, ceramicists from Talavera

de la Reina, Spain, introduced their methods to

artisans in Puebla, Mexico. Moorish, Spanish,

and even Asian infl uences blended with the

indigenous fl oral and animal motifs to create a

truly Mexican style.

These exceptional artisans create every piece

entirely by hand, using a combination of

three local clays and fi ring it twice at high

temperatures–resulting in a durable tile with

breathtaking color and intricacy of design.
