Category 2Category 2• After looking at several of the mortar and artillery pieces, what would it have

felt to be beside it when firing it off? How would it feel, sound, and smell?• Look carefully at the tunics and other clothing of the various nations. What

would it be like to live and function in the uniforms? Compare and contrast the uniforms, helmets, and protective devices of Germany, Canada, France, Great Britain, and the United States. How do the uniforms the women wore during World War I compare with today’s uniforms?

• There are x-rays of bullet wounds and field surgery kits on display. After seeing these and reading some of the accounts of wounded soldiers and their caregivers, what might it have been like to have been wounded during the war? What would you say to your family?
