This season’s events and exhibitions promises to keep you and the whole family entertained with a selection of book clubs, films, historical talks, hands-on science as well as some traditional British nostalgia and crafts, trips and music inspired by Welsh canals.

Back by popular demand is Pirate Weekend (Sat 10 & Sun 11 August) and to tie in with the canals theme, families can get to grips with

bridge, lock and aqueduct making from Thurs 25 to Sun 28 July. A special trip for adults onboard the Black Prince is also scheduled for 29 August and 5 & 12 September – one not to be missed!

A touring exhibition from the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru.

30 June – 8 SeptemberPrivate CollectionsAfter an acclaimed display at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, this beautiful show of glass panels brings the work of women who specialise in architectural glasswork from across the world to Swansea.

6 July – 13 OctoberWater under the Bridge – Welsh CanalsA new exhibition looking at how canals in Wales developed, grew and changed over 200 years. Find out where, why and how these waterways changed from the motorways of the Industrial Revolution to the nature reserves and leisure facilities of today.
