Udaan, a special initiative for Jammu & Kashmir, today announced its largest recruitment drive under the scheme that will take place in Srinagar on 18th – 19th November, 2014. The drive will see over 15 large corporates heading for the Valley to recruit over 2000 graduates and post-graduates in a wide range of sectors, including banking, finance, hospitality, education, IT/ITES and security.

This is the single largest recruitment drive conducted under Udaan since its inception in November 2011. Some of India’s largest corporations are participating in this massive recruitment drive. Corporates like Genpact, IL&FS, CMC, Reliance HR Services, Accenture, Ratnakar Bank and others will be in Srinagar for recruiting fresh talents during this drive.

Under Udaan, participating corporates hire recruits, providing off-site training and upon successful completion of the training make job offers. Since inception nearly 10,500 youth of Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for Udaan.

Commenting on this historic moment, Dilip Chenoy, MD and CEO, NSDC, said, “We are grateful to every single Udaan partner who will be participating in this massive recruitment drive. The timing of this drive could not have been better, considering the recent natural disaster the people in the valley had to suffer. Opportunities such as these help the youth of J&K in securing gainful employment across India. I am also happy that this drive coincides with Udaan’s third anniversary. I urge more corporates to take part in Udaan and would like to wish my very best to both the aspiring recruits and the employers.”

The recruitment drive will be preceded by a seminar on 17th November to help corporates understand the talent pool in the Jammu & Kashmir. The seminar and the recruitment drive will take place at Sher-I Kashmir International Conference Centre in Srinagar.
