Venue:Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Centre, Kothrud, Pune

Date:16/07/2017

On 16th July 2017, the students of Third year and Final year B.Pharm visited

DeenanathMangeshkar Hospital & Research Centre for the blood donation

campaign, where the students along with N.S.S. Officer of Dr. D. Y. Patil College

of Pharmacy, Akurdi, Dr. D. S. Shirode donated the blood.

Doctors at hospital enlightened about importance of blood donation and also they

provided health checkup facility like Hemoglobin and sugar checkup. The students

who donated blood are as follows:

Swacchata Pledge

Venue : Seminar hall, D.Y.P.C.O.P. Akurdi, Pune.

Date: 02/08/2017

On 2nd

August 2017, Swacchata Pledge was organized in seminar hall in Dr. D. Y.

Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi. The staff and students pledged to keep the

environment clean and took Oath for cleanliness. Dr. N. S. Vyawahare, Principal,

also took a pledge and enlightened the students about the importance of cleanliness

in daily life.

In order to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness according to the

forum of “Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan” the NSS unit of the institute carried out a

mass cleanliness activity at the college premises. It is believed that cleanliness

should start from the area we live in and one should also consider the surrounding

area as his/her living space. It was started by distributing the work in various

places i.e library, classroom, laboratories, Computer lab, Animal house etc. The

cleanliness work was then carried out where in all the blackboards, fans, tube

lights, lab platforms, class benches were cleaned. Cleaning aids such as brooms,

wiping clothes etc. were used. Teaching & Non-teaching staff actively participated

in this cleaning activity & made sure that every corner, floor, lab desk, benches

were properly cleaned. After carrying out an extensive cleanliness drive, Dr. N. S.

Vyawahare, Principal, took a round of the college and appreciated the cleanliness

work conducted by the students.

Date: 8th August 2017

Prior permission from village authority for carrying out the cleaning activity well

in the advanceto the activity was taken and activity was carried out in the afternoon

at around 12:00 pm till in evening. The member of Gram panchayat Mr. Satkar

guided the NSS Volunteers about the area & places wherein cleanliness was

needed to be carried out.

The teaching & Non-teaching staff appreciated our work of cleaning each & every

premises. The village Gram panchayat authority provided hand gloves, face mask,

garbage bags & other material required for the cleaning of village.

The whole garbage was collected in a huge tractor vehicle & carried out the

respective dumping ground for disposal.

In a view of cleaning of the orphanage premises, as a social wellbeing activity in

NationalService Scheme programme, All the NSS student volunteers of Third and

Final year B. Pharm participated in the cleanliness drive activity. The premises

were cleaned dry using suitable cleaning aids. The small kids from orphanage were

co-operative and also actively participated, After that, all the students carried out a

rally in the premises of orphanage and railway station, wherein slogans were

spoken and street play was performed for the cleanliness awareness.

Azam campus Street plays competition:

Street plays are means of expressing our views, with this goal in mind, NSS

volunteers participated in seven days street play competition held at Azam campus.

As an activity for spreading awareness about importance of personal

hygiene, students actively participated in activities such as Street play competition

with Poster presentation & Essay writing competition organized by college gave an

eye opening message on cleanliness.

On 14th

January 2018, the students of Final year B. Pharm visited Deenanath

Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Centre for the blood donation campaign, where

the students along with N.S.S. Officer of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy,

Akurdi, Dr. D. S. Shirode donated the blood. Doctors at hospital advised students

about importance of blood donation and after scrutiny and they allowed eligible

volunteers to donate blood.

th January 2018,

Debate, Group discussion and lectures were organized to boost the confidence and

leadership quality for students which will help them to participate in various social

B.NSS CAMP

The soul of India lives in its villages. Therefore, the NSS unit in the adopted

villageKanhe, Taluka Maval, District Pune, from 24thDec 2017 to 30

thDec 2017.

This special camp was organized with the help of Grampanchyat members of

Kanhe. The main schedule for the NSS Camp is as described below

Inauguration Program:

To develop sense of social responsibility and to work for village Community, the

inauguration programme was held on 1st day of NSS Camp in the presence of

Sarpanch and Grampanchyat members along with people of Kanhe. In this

programme the layout of 7 days activity was elaborated by the Co-ordinator.

Survey:

Survey was conducted on 25th

Dec 2017 to obtain statistical data which is based on

the collection of unbiased information from various sources to get information

about occupation and health status of people and also to check implementation of

numerous Governmental schemes. The data was collected accordingly and report

was prepared.

Cleanliness Drive:

As per Swatch Bharat Abhiyan Programme cleanliness activity was carried out

with the help of villagers on 26th Dec 2017 in Kanhe and Naygaon. The Awareness

Rally was organized to make people aware about the importance of cleanliness and

also aware them about health issue that is caused due to unhealthy practices and

unhygienic habits.

In this drive, the tree plantation programme was also carried out in Kanhe by

promoting the importance of tree and plants in our ecosystem.

Hemoglobin Checkup: The NSS unit of DYPCOP had organized Hemoglobin Checkup Campat Kanhe for men and women. % of Hb had been detected and detailed reports of normal and abnormal % of Hb were determined and later the participants were informed about food supplements which increases Hemoglobin.

b) Blood Pressure Checkup: The NSS unit of DYPCOP had also organized BP

checkup for men and women. The detailed report of BP and information was given

to them and consulted them for supplements and essential vegetables for it.

c] BMI (Body Mass Index).

The NSS unit of DYPCOP had organized BMI checkup for men and women at

NSS camp. The detailed BMI report was given along with consultation also

information of food and exercise was provided to people of Kanhe.

d] Eye Checkup

The NSS unit of DYPCOP had organized eye checkup camp at Kanhe for men and

women. The detailed report was given to villagers and if any abnormalities were

observed doctor consulted to them accordingly.

e] Blood Donation Camp

The NSS unit of DYPCOP had conducted blood donation camp at Kanhe in

coordination with Acharya Anandrushi Blood Bank, Pune .The NSS unit of college

received Certificate of Appreciation along with trophy from blood bank for this

major contribution in creating awareness.

STREET PLAY

On 29th

Dec 2017, the NSS unit of DYPCOP, conducted street play on various

locations in Kanhe and the subject for street play was female foeticide, Cleanliness

drive, swine fluetc.Through this street play, NSS volunteers made people aware

about various social issues and provided them information about Government

schemes by distributing leaflets to them.

On 30th

Dec 2017, the Gram panchayat of Kanhe organized a farewell program for

NSS unit of DYPCOP. The Sarpanch gave vote of thanks to NSS unit for
