Boundary Amendment for the Harold C. Brooks House (Jabez S. Fitch House), 310 N. Kalamazoo Avenue, Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan.
8. The grounds of the Brooks property are also significant for their landscaping, planned in 1921 by prominent Midwest landscape architect Jens Jensen. Jensen is best known for his work in Chicago in the early twentieth cent~ry. Serving as superintendent and chief landscape architect of that city•s West Park District from 1905 to 1920, Jensen designed Garfield, Columbus, Humbo1dt, Douglas, and Eckhart parks. In Michigan, along with the Brooks property, Jensen also designed the grounds of the Edsel B. and Eleanor Ford estate at Grosse Pointe Shores near Detroit.

In the original nomi-nat ion for the Brooks House, only the part of the Brooks property directly adjacent to the house itself was included. It is now proposed to include the entire property for National Register purposes.
