  • Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is much more than a three-day weekend that marks the beginning of summer. To many people, especially the nation’s thousands of combat veterans, this day, which has a history stretching back all the way to the Civil War, is an important reminder of those who died in the service of their country.

Music Celebrations International and the American Veterans Center are pleased to present the fourth-annual National Memorial Day Concert Series.

Performances will take place throughout Memorial Day Weekend at the National World War II Memorial, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, and the United States Air Force and Navy Memorials. Performance slots and requests are given on

a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis. Early registration is encouraged. Other performance opportunities may be available upon request.

Come experience our nation’s capital by participating in the National Memorial Day Concert Series. There is no greater place and time to honor and thank America’s veterans.
