Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is much more than a three-day weekend that marks the beginning of summer. To many people, especially the nation’s thousands of combat veterans, this day, which has a history stretching back all the way to the Civil War, is an important reminder of those who died in the service of their country.

Music Celebrations International and the American Veterans Center are pleased to present the fourth-annual National Memorial Day Concert Series.

Performances will take place throughout Memorial Day Weekend at the National World War II Memorial, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, and the United States Air Force and Navy Memorials. Performance slots and requests are given on

a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis. Early registration is encouraged. Other performance opportunities may be available upon request.

DAY ONE – SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2019Arrival in Washington, D.C.Sightseeing may include a panoramic tour of Historic Washington, D.C. DAY THREE – MONDAY, MAY 27 – MEMORIAL DAYBreakfast at the hotel and check-outVisit the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the Marine Corps Iwo Jima War MemorialTake a tour of Arlington National Cemetery and participate in the special U.S.Military Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown*View the National Memorial Day Parade along Historic Constitution AvenueDepart for home
