Conference Chairs’ Invite

SARIPA is delighted to be holding its 7th Annual Conference at Monte Casino, Fourways, Gauteng.

On the global front, the economic, social and political climate is turbulent. Europe is buckling under the inflow of migrants from Africa and the Middle East. Increasingly ambitious bail-out plans for Greece is occupying the attention of members of the European Council. The slow-down in the Chinese economy and suspicions of a bubble in this giant of the world economy is causing jitters worldwide.

Closer to home we are confronted with a run, in the wrong direction, on our currency. Struggling mines have to juggle diverse issues in an effort to stay afloat. Business sentiment and confidence are low amid expectations that the economic growth could slow down to the two per cent level.

These conditions create opportunities for business rescue practitioners and insolvency practitioners to prosper. Nevertheless, practitioners in both fields continue facing their own challenges relating to regulation, licensing and appointments.

It is against this background that we proudly invite you to this year’s conference. The SARIPA conference is the learning and networking event of the year for those who ply their trade in the worlds of insolvencies and business rescues. It has certainly become the event to be seen at. Following a long tradition of outstanding conferences, this year's event will feature international experts, as well as many of the country's leading lawyers, academics, and practitioners. We are confident that the technical programme will be stimulating and provide delegates with enhanced knowledge which they can implement for the betterment of their own practices and the respective industries they serve.

We wish to acknowledge the speakers for their willingness and unselfish contribution to the success of the conference. Similarly we thank our sponsors for their generous contributions.

Of course, a conference can only be successful if there are delegates. We thus invite you to register for and participate in this event filled with exciting discussions and opportunities to relax and enjoy some time away from the business environment.
