Recruiters & Candidates: Bridging the DivideDaniel Reynolds, Director of Client Service, Fusion Marketing Group, Inc.

Content Level: All Levels

Many well-intended recruitment marketing programs fail simply because advertising alone can’t solve complex health care recruitment challenges. Traditional recruitment advertising is only a partial solution, and when used alone, will never produce satisfactory results. Many health systems do not need to focus scarce recruitment budget dollars on advertising in hopes of attracting candidates to their career website. Instead, they can improve their overall results by redirecting their efforts and resources to converting website visitors into applicants through candidate engagement programs. Based upon extensive research with health care professionals and the analysis of millions of career website interactions, Fusion Marketing Group offers a completely different and proven approach to optimizing the recruit-ment process.

Great Candidate Experiences Don’t Happen by Accident: How to Turn Your Employment Website into a Dynamic Tool & Deliver Personalized Marketing to CandidatesDaniel Reynolds, Director of Client Service, Fusion Marketing Group, Inc.

Content Level: All Levels

Creating a great candidate experience is a key objective for most health care recruitment teams today. How can you leverage the efficiency of applicant tracking systems and other automation while still letting each individual can-didate know that they are important to you and that they matter to the organization? “People matter here,” is often a recruitment marketing tagline. However, when it comes to the actual experience of applying for a job, the message conveyed is often quite the opposite. Maybe it’s time we take a lesson from consumer marketing and leverage the potential of personalized marketing.

We have all experienced the power of the Internet to make our lives easier and help us accomplish tasks effi-ciently – due to its unique power, digital marketing offers personalized content for individual consumers. An example is Amazon.com, which pioneered personalized marketing. Because Amazon has tools in place to track customers’ purchases and interests, it can customize content and marketing messages to fit those interests. In this way, the marketing becomes more relevant to the individual’s need – it’s personalized, it gets noticed, and it generates action.

Personalized marketing is a four-phase process: identifying potential customers; determining their needs and their value to the company; interacting with customers so as to learn about them and customizing products, services and communications to individual customers. Apply these same steps to recruitment marketing, and you will improve the candidate experience. Deliver highly personalized content and messaging to candidates and help them to connect with the right position in your organization. Follow the can-didate’s path through the job search process, and explore how new technology can take recruitment programs from good to great!

Concurrent Session 5B

Going beyond the Interview: How to Find the Right Talent on a Tight TimelineTheresa Mazzaro, Nurse Recruiter, Adventist HealthCare

Content Level: Entry

Veteran nurse recruiter, Theresa Mazzaro, was handed a tall order on the first day of her new job with Adventist Health-Care: hire a large number of nurse graduates and nurse externs in 60 days. Oh, and make sure they are team play-ers, enthusiastic, empathetic and compassionate. In other words, find really great nurses. Attend this session to hear how Ms. Mazzaro successfully met her 60-day hiring goal by going beyond the interview with new processes to quickly move applicants through each hiring step using informa-tion provided by the people who know them best – former direct reports, managers and peers.

Concurrent Session 5C

Best Practices in the Recruitment & Management of a Contingent Work Force (In-House Supplemental Pool)Deborah Rowe, MS, RN, PHR, CHCR, Vice President, Genesis Staffing Services, Genesis HealthCare

Content Level: Intermediate

Genesis HealthCare employees are the vital link between Genesis HealthCare and its patients and residents. Gen-esis HealthCare recognizes that the workforce continues to evolve, and the contingent workforce is the key driver in the provision of care. Since 1998, Genesis Staffing Ser-vices has evolved from an agency model to a “one call”, in-house, supplemental pool nursing model servicing six states with over 1,000 per diem employees. Participants will walk through this model and learn about the core compo-nents of recruitment, management, training, performance improvement and financial outcomes. The presenter will guide participants through the experience to enhance their own workforce models in the changing health care envi-ronment! The presenter will provide participants with best practices of what Genesis HealthCare learned through its journey.

“This was my first NAHCR conference, and I have been a health care recruiter for just over a year. I definitely learned many new things, but I think that the possibilities are endless! Whether you are new to health care recruiting or you helped write the book, you will absolutely have great take aways from attending an IMAGE conference!”
