RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

2014-present

Betterment Labs, Carleton University.

Supervisor: Dr. Michael J. A. Wohl

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

My research is focused in two areas. The first area examines the link between intergroup

emotions and prejudice. The second area examines transdiagnostic factors that proliferate and

maintain health compromising behaviours. I am also a member of the Gambling Research

Exchange and Training (GREaT) hub in which we provide gambling-oriented knowledge

translation services and training to Gambling Research Exchange Ontario (GREO).

2013-2014

Eating Disorders Clinical and Research Program, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard

Medical School.

Supervisors: Drs. Kamryn T. Eddy and Jennifer J. Thomas

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

My research focused on the link between overvaluation of body shape/weight and engagement in

maladaptive weight-control behaviours. I was also involved in two other research projects. The

first examined the 22-year weight trajectories of the women with eating disorders. The second

was a meta-analysis of the link between therapeutic alliance and outcome in eating disorders.

2008-2013

Social Psychology Laboratory, Concordia University.

Supervisor: Dr. Michael Conway

Doctoral student

My doctoral research focused on the link between university students’ attachment to their social

class background and their expectations of upward social mobility via their studies.

2011-2012

CBT Unit, McGill University Health Centre, McGill University.

Supervisor: Dr. Gail Myhr

Graduate Research Assistant

Nassim Tabri CV 10/13

Conducted statistical analyses for a treatment study investigating change in attachment styles

during cognitive-behavioural therapy among patients with depression and anxiety disorders.

2011-2012

Adult Development and Ageing Laboratory, Concordia University.

Supervisor: Drs. Dolores Pushkar and Karen Z.H. Li

Graduate Research Assistant

Conducted statistical analyses for the Concordia Longitudinal Retirement Project. The first

project investigated the predictors of cognitive function among recent retirees. The second

project investigated how family-status (having children or not) was related to fluctuations in life

satisfaction and well-being over time among recent retirees.

2005-2008

Social Psychology Laboratory, Concordia University.

Principal supervisor: Dr. Michael Conway

Co-supervisors: Drs. Homa Hoodfar and Arang Keshavarzian

Master’s student

Master’s research project focused on predictors of collective action.

2004-2005

Correctional Services of Canada, Ville-Marie Parole Office, Montreal, Canada.

Supervisor: Dr. Jeffery Drugge

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Worked with a team of researchers to evaluate a new motivational-based intervention training

program for frontline correctional workers.
