NASP Bulletins Purpose, Principles & Importance 1Submission Process: C.A.T.2NASP Bulletin SPOCs3Objectives

The NASP Bulletin or weekly newsletter comes out every Thursday and although the main audience its intended for is the field, its important thats everyones reading it and staying informed. Its also important that everyone knows its:Purpose/principles, submission process/timeline, and SPOCs. This wont take much time so it should be quick and painless.Everything were going to cover today are actual situations or questions that have come up, so the information is relevant and important. Im hoping that once we review the bulletin process, we can answer any Qs and get everyone on the same page.2

Why should you care about the NASP Bulletin?

You may say, Im in Marketing, Finance, etc. why should I care about the newsletter? Well although MS&P is the main contributor to the newsletter, we rely on Cross-functional teams to be successful. Anyone from any function can submit to the newsletter, even though our main contributors are in MSP. For example:

Take the Mktg Dept: We know many Marketing Strategies are developed in Geneva, then relayed to our Marketing Dept., and further developed to NA. Then the ideas transferred to MS&P, but Marketing has to ensure that the field understands the correct messages they want to be relayed. An example is Sebastian where Heather and Bailey work very closely to deliver me info on:ContestsInitiatives/PromosWhats Next AwardsSelling strategies4

NASP Bulletin Purpose & PrinciplesMain source of written communication to the field. Sales Teams are expected and held accountable to read. (Special Bulletins sent sparingly.)Informs Sales Teams of need-to-know information & selling tools/strategies to drive NOS.New Name! New Logo! New Principles!

Why is the Newsletter important? Because our success depends on Growing NOS and how effectively WE keep our Sales Teams informed of initiatives, current events, CI info, new digital applications, contests, marketing strategies, selling strategies, etc. ALL info that helps communicate TOP PRIORITIES & GROW NOS!Main Source of written communication to field- SPECIAL BULLETINS SENT SPARINGLY TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF EMAILS DEPLOYED.But does the field really read it? Weve re-marketed it and are continuing to re-marketing it with a New Name! New Logo! New Principles! Incorporating in Survey Results, Such asFront Page simplified & action-oriented Featuring most important business issuesWhile the rest of the newsletter will be important, but more FYI-type material.5

Weekly Bulletin Submission ProcessShort & ConciseAll Brands Represented

3. AHigh Res (500 kb1 MB or 72 ppi)*MOD Training to comeImage and Logo must be included. C.A.T.*Special Note

C.A.T. Complete, Accurate, and on Time

COMPLETE:Submissions short & concise- principle. Increases readership and attention of reader. Though Id like to think that every reader reads a whole 5 paragraph article, chances are, theyre reading the 1st, main paragraph only or skimming the rest.Survey Results: One of the most common feedback items we received on the recent survey was the request to cover ALL Brands. Up until now, there has not been much Open Line coverage and this is what specifically was requested more of.High Res Image. Recently, this has been an issue so to clarify, pls try to have it at least from (500kb 1 MB or 72 pixels per inch roughly). If youd more help finding images or learning about images, watch for a MOD training to come!

ACCURATE:Final Draft Form: If you need approval, pls get beforehand.Check syntax Does it make sense? Have someone else read it to see if it makes sense. *HopeChecked for spelling, grammatical errors, punctuation, capitalization.Links checked.Submission Form must be used- (Show Last slide if needed) Also provide calendar reminder if needed.Despite the fact that this is an internal only document, we still need to be aware of:Image Usage Rights: If an AM sees an image used, they may want to use it, and wed then have to explain to them that its expired OR they could snip it from the pdf. Were all crunched for time, but I cannot publish material that is cut and pasted from another media source without the proper reference notation. This is considered plagiarism and I wont and cannot publish it. I have the latest APA Manual at my desk if youd ever like to look up the proper way to reference a source or for any grammatical checks. ON TIMEWed. Noon Drop-dead Deadline: Not trying to be mean, difficult, etc. Would love to make an exception, but this has already been pushed back an entire day for you. It was Tues. 12:00, but changed in order to accommodate late-breaking Special Bulletin announcements such as STOP-SELLS on PROMOS or PRICE INCREASES, etc. This is NOT an arbitrary day/time. The earlier you can get your submissions to me, the better so I can begin planning layout.

Theres more than you might think happening behind its development - Once I receive all the submissions, I have to:Make edits/revisions, rewrite articles, write articles (CI, etc.)Find people for questionsCreate the bulletins layout in PublisherReconfigure images and find additional imagesResize articles, images, etc. so we can keep the newsletter short (3-4 pages)Review with DannyMake any changes before deployment

**SPECIAL NOTE: At times, we may have to push articles to the following week if theyre not time pressing to keep with the principle of keeping the newsletter short (3-4 pages).
