PlanningPilotsshouldconsiderthefollowingwhenplanningtheirflightstoandfromNarromine:
• Ensurethatyourdocuments,includingmaps,arecurrent• RememberthatDubboaerodromeislocatedonly18nauticalmilesfromNarromine
justsouthofEast.DubbohasincreasingnumbersofRPToperationsbyQantaslink,REX,JetGoandFlyPelicanthatlinkDubbodirectlytoSydney,EssendonandBrisbane.Addiionally,thereisaFlyingDoctorbaseatDubbothatservescommunitiesparticularlytothewestandDubboCTAFfrequencyis134.0(notthecommon126.7usedatNarromine)
• READTHENOTAMS.TherearemanysourcesincludingNAIPS,OzRunways,AvPlan.• ATemporaryRestrictedArea(TRA)hasbeenrequestedforthedurationoftheAir
DisplayonSaturdayafternoonfrom1:00pmto3:00pmEasternDaylightSavingTime.ItwillbenotifiedbyNOTAM.Therewillbenoarrivalsordeparturespermittedduringthistime.IfcomingtoNarromineonSaturdayitisrecommendedthatyouplantoarrivenotlaterthannoontoallowadequatetimefordelays.
• AvgasandMogaswillbeavailableatNarromine.TherewillbetrucksforMogasandAvgasandtheAvgasbowser.Ifyouwishtorefuelfromthebowseronarrival,pleasenotifytheGroundMarshalonfirstVHFcontactafterclearingtherunway.
• Whenplanning,ensurethatyouallowadequatetimeandfuelifdelayedduetotheexpectedtrafficvolume.

UnicomandGroundCommunication
• A Unicom service will be provided on the Narromine CTAF frequency 126.7 on
Thursdayafternoon,FridayandSaturdayfrom8:30amto5:00pm.Operationaldaysandhoursmaybeextendediftrafficisheavy.MonitortheUnicomfrequencywhenpossibletodetermineifUnicomisoperational.
• The Unicom operatorwill advise known traffic and preferred runway. Additionalinformationmaybeprovidedonrequest.NormalCTAFprocedureswillapply.
• Whereoperationallysuitable,thepreferredrunwayforarrivalis22andthepreferredrunway for departure is 29. This is tominimise runway occupancy times due byminimisingback-tracking.Afterlandingon22,expediteyourrollthroughtoexitonTaxiwayC. Whendepartingon29,usefull lengthbyenteringfromtaxiway“B”tokeepthetaxiwayintersectionclear.
• Thealternatepreferredrunwayconfiguration(usedifthewindisfromtheEast)willbe 11 for arrivals and 04 for departures. Unicomwill provide guidance on winddirectionandpreferred runwayhowever runway choice is at thepilot’sdiscretionbasedonoperationalrequirements.
• Bealertforpotentialconflictattheintersectionofrunways11/29and04/22.• Onexiting the runway callNarromineGroundon120.85whenestablishedon the
taxiwayforguidancetoparking.• WhencallingNarromineGround,pleaseadvisecall-sign,aircrafttype, locationand
parkingrequirementwhichmaybe:o DayVisito Overnighto On-fieldcampingo StaticDisplayo AirDisplay
• Ifyouhaveotherrequirementssuchasbowserfuelorotherparking,pleaseadviseNarromineGroundonfirstcontact.
• IfarrivingfromtheEast,beawareoftheDubboCTAF(134.0)andmaketherequiredadvisory calls of you are transiting through it. Dubbo is only 18 miles east ofNarromine.

MarshalingandParking• AfterinitialcontactwithNarromineGroundwhenexitingtherunwayandnominating
requirements,pilotscanexpecttoberequestedtotaxiforwardbemetbyamarshalon a 4-wheel bike or other suitable vehicle who will lead them to their parkinglocation.
• Atalltimes,safetyisthehighestpriority.• Beforecommencingtotaxi,ensurethattheareaisclearandthatyouhaveestablished
eyecontactwiththemarshalprovidingtheguidance. Alwayskeepasafedistancebehindthemarshal.Marshalsareinstructedtoprovideguidancefromtheleftsideofthetaxiway,pilotsshouldkeeptheiraircraftonthetaxiwaycenterline.
• Remember,pilotsareresponsiblefortheiraircraftandpassengers,marshalsprovideguidanceonly.Ifindoubt,stop,shutdownifnecessaryandrequestassistance.
• GenerallyheavierGAaircraftwillbetaxiedtotheirparkingposition,lighteraircraftwillbetaxiedclosetotheirparkingwithfinalpositioningbyhand.Volunteerswillbeavailabletoassist.
• Beforeleavingyouraircraft,ensurethemarshalissatisfiedwithitsposition,thattheaircraft is shut down with mixture closed and magnetos off and tied down asnecessary.
• Whilstsecuringyouraircraftandwalkingtolandside,beverycarefulofothertaxyingaircraft. Remind yourself and your passengers of the airside hazards, includingpropellersandgroundobstaclessuchastiedowns.Walkbehindaircraftwheneverpossible.
• SignsshowingcontactnumbersfortheAvgasandMogastankerswillbelocatedattheexit/entrygatesandtheinformationcentre.
• Except forAirDisplayAircraft,apronparking isnotavailableexcept forpilotswhohave sort and received prior approval from AirVenture Australia([email protected]).
• Except for access to the fuel bowser, all sealed apron areas are restricted toauthorizedairshowoperationsonly.
2017FlyingDisplayTherewillbeaFlyingDisplayonSaturday21Octoberbetween13:00and15:00EasternDaylightSavingTime.ItisexpectedthataTemporaryRestrictedArea(TRA)willapplyduringthistimeandarrivalsanddepartureswillbeprohibited.
