ResearchTime Period: 1800-1900

Changes in a number of areas e.g. extles, ransporaton, he meal indusry ec.

Agriculure - Improving agriculural echniques increased food supply and maerials. New echnology improved producton, pros and commerce. As he

agriculural secor improved, so did wool and coon producton. There was also increased energy in breeding livesock, conrolling insecs and irrigaton.

Textles Maerials from foreign sources. Mainly women and children worked in he facories paid lower han men. The conditons of he facories were noregulaed much.

Coal mining Very risky. Men, women, children and animals were used. Children were useful due o size. Improvemen of ventlaton and ransporaton in

his era.

Transporaton Plays a major par in he exen of he revoluton quicker, more reliable ranspor.

Seam The power used in seam rains was exremely helpful in ohers secors

Qualiy of life Decrease in he deah rae and an increase in he birh rae - due o he improvemen of oher secors, here was more food available.

Diseases were beginning o be reaed however, less populaed pars of he counry were no as aware of saniaton herefore, causing he reurn of diseases.

Beer wages, improved clohing and housing. Facories were buil near waer sources for power. The conditons of he facories were awful - no well li, diry

and packed. Facory Acs helped in improving conditons, and workers begun o realise he power of solidariy.

Smallpox The busy naure of a ciy was he ideal siuaton for smallpox. Despie here being a vaccine available, many were unaware of is exisence. I is an

airborne virus.

Typhoid Anoher disease caused by infeced waer.

Typhus Carried by liceTuberculosis Aacks he lungs. Tubercles are produced by he lungs as a defence mechanism. Coughing causes hem o be spa ou.

Aeced hose ha were undernourished or who lived in damp/diry areas. Passed hrough coughing. Killed approx. one hird of hose ha died in

Briain beween 1800-1850.
