and the day we discover why. William Barclay
Our Joan is traveling to be with her
family. We wish her save travels.

2017 Lights of Love
18th Annual Lights of Love Tree Lighting Sun. Dec 17th
For 17 years, our members have reached
out to their friends, family and the
community to offer them to purchase a
light for $5 each in memory of or in
honor of a loved one. Our Service Men
and Women are always remembered.
This is a fundraising project that we look
forward to each year. The tree is lit after
the names are read. Be sure to get your
forms to Sue Lester by December 15th
so
the names will be in the program.
Once a year we ask for & need all
members participation and help:
Pilot Holiday 5K Run- Kid’s Run
December 10th
North Collier Regional
Park at 7 AM. Members are asked to
help set up at 6:30. Sponsorships are the
key to the success of the event. The
Pilot Holiday 5K Run is “all hands on
deck” effort. It requires every member
to do something to make it work. We
need you! We need a commitment from
every member to work on Sunday,
December 10th
. Help us to continue the
good work that we do in the community
as a result of this fundraising effort. It
cannot happen without each and every
member committed to the success.
It will be over at 9 AM. . . . . . . . .
Cape Coral High School Anchor Club
The Pilot Club of Naples proudly
announces we have sponsored an Anchor
Club! Lori Milton and Leigh Ann Page
will serve as the Anchor Advisors.
Rosemarie Kirk has accepted the
responsibility of serving as Anchor
Liaison with Joan Hurd. Nov. 14th
was
the official Charter ceremony. This was
a memorable event and the beginning of
a relationship we can enjoy and work
with. As a sponsoring club, we need to
have it on our calendar that the Anchor
Convention is in March at the Park Inn
by Raddison in Kissimmee.

From Pilot International
“On November 28, 2017 Pilot
International will participate in our
first #GivingTuesday. We are
excited at this opportunity to expand
our outreach and our social media
footprint to communities around the
world!” Each week, for Giving
Tuesday, a Pilot member will share a
story about a favorite service project.
They ask you to share and add a
quote about why you support Pilot
International #PIGives. You may be
featured with your story next week.
Stay connected on Constant Contact
with both PI and the Florida District
and you will receive the stories each
week along with all the current
information you need to know. If
you are not connected with Constant
Contact with both PI and the Florida
District, you are missing so much.
Do more, Care More, Share More! Remember, our goal for
#GivingTuesday is a minimum of
$5/member.
Giving to Pilot
International’s Founders Fund helps
to support the ABC initiatives of Pilot:
AnchorsYouth Leadership Development
Brain Safety & Fitness and
Caring for Families in need. Pilot International Founders Fund
established in 1975 to further Pilot’s
humanitarian efforts. Since the Pilot
International Founders Fund grant
program began in 1977, nearly 1,500 grants totaling more than $1.5 million
have been disbursed to Pilot Clubs.
The most worth-while thing is to try to
put happiness into the lives of others. Robert Powell
A big thank you to Governor Caroline
and those who donated to Thriftology. Between the hurricane and the holidays, we are behind on
our plans to open the store. Donations are still coming in and we
are truly pleased with the support from friends and Pilot members all
over the state. We are committed to this mission and will keep you
updated on every step of the way. Thank you for your wonderful
treasurers.
Save your treasures for Thriftology.

Funds have helped those in need.
Thank you does not seem like enough.
It is with the deepest joy that we have
good news. The Naples Pilot
Foundation, Inc. has once again been
honored with support from Arthrex.
There are no words to express how
fortunate and grateful we are to be
considered for their donation. The funds
that they provide make it possible for
The Pilot Club of Naples/Naples Pilot
Foundation to continue the community
service that we provide. If you see
someone from Arthrex, tell them how
much we appreciate their support.
Arthrex is a medical device designer and
manufacturer whose products assist
surgeons and improve countless lives of
the injured, infirm and aged. We love
Arthrex!
Our Concerns: Suzan Berg’s Husband Allan and family
Ruth Fralick – In our thoughts as she
recovers. So happy to see Ruth at the
meetings.
Guess who will to be at the
Dec 10th Holiday Pilot 5K
Run?
The most challenging part of this event
is getting the word out to those who run.
There are many running events in our
area and the competition to get the
runners is fierce. If there is anything you
can do to send by Twitter, Facebook, etc.
please do it now.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, at
North Collier Regional Park. We hope
Mrs. Claus will be passing out treats.
You know what Santa will be doing! He
is keeping track of all the members who
volunteer. Don’t miss being there at
6:15 AM to help set up for the 7 AM
start time. Our amazing sponsors have
been very generous supporting us this
year. . .See the list below as of this
printing. . .More to come. ..
We have goodie bags, shirts, medals and
even some Christmas Wrapped Gifts for
the Masters Male and Female as well as
Overall Male and Female. If we can get
some help on Saturday, we will put up
the 10 foot Christmas tree. There will be
Holiday music and Christmas spirit. We
will not promise snow, but it will be a
very cool morning. Unlike our Labor
Day 5K with those hot and humid
mornings. Doug Hebel and his team of
RunDurance, Sports Timing will handle
plotting the course, registration and
timing. He will need volunteers for the
water station on the course. Volunteers
are needed for the food table, Pilot
information table, etc.
Remember, this is our time to shine and
promote our Pilot Club of Naples/Naples
Pilot Foundation, Inc. Bring your best
smile and hospitality. Don’t be late!
