UV Lamp ReplacementThe ultraviolet lamp requires changing every90-120 days. Lamp life will vary according tothe number of times the NANOpure InfinityUV unit is turned on and off (theSTART/STOP mode). This estimated lamp lifeis based on the NANOpure Infinity UV/UF beingoperated in the RUN mode during normalworking hours (assumed to be 9 hours/day, 5days/week) and then placed in the STANDBYmode during off hours (15 hours/day),weekends and holidays. Every fourth time thepump goes on in the STANDBY mode, the UVlight will go on. The lamp is on ten minutes outof every four hours. This amounts to 2 START/STOP cycles per 9-hour working day. If theNANOpure Infinity UV/UF is cycled betweenthe RUN and STANDBY modes during thework day, this will result in a shorter lamp life. Therefore, it is recommended that theNANOpure Infinity UV/UF be left in the RUNposition during normal working hours.

Leaving the unit in the STOP mode at night andon weekends will lengthen UV bulb life but willcompromise water quality. Higher rates ofbacterial growth, as well as ionic and organicpurity degradation, will occur, necessitating theNANOpure Infinity UV/UF be placed in arecirculating mode for up to one hour toachieve organic purity of <1 ppb TOC.

1. Turn off the NANOpure Infinity UV/UFand disconnect it from the powersupply by removing the power cordand the jumper plug or the float/pres-sure switch from left side of the unit.

ConsumablesConsumable parts are those required to support the day-to-day operation of this equipment.Barnstead|Thermolyne establishes two types of consumables; those items that mustperiodically be replaced to maintain performance (filters, resin cartridges, etc.) and other itemsof limited life (indicator lights, fuses, etc.) that you can expect to replace on a more or lessrandom basis. Where practical, Barnstead|Thermolyne recommends the frequency ofreplacement, or provides information on life expectancy from which you may calculate areplacement interval compatible with your usage pattern.

The replacement of consumable parts is discussed in the Maintenance and Servicing sectionto assist you in accomplishing your own service.

Consumables may be ordered separately and in some cases, as an expendables kit. Checkwith your Barnstead|Thermolyne representative for additional information on the expendableskit.
