Name three things you learned about CAR tonight. After hearing part of the story tonight, what types of

things do you take for granted each day?

Sometimes hearing the hardships in the world is overwhelming. Yet, programs like the Village

Savings and Loan make a world of difference to not only an individual, but to his/her family and

community as well. Consider this quote. “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” What does this mean to

you?

Namsio’s family barely eeked out a living before receiving a small loan that changed her whole family. A loan made school, a tailoring business,

goat purchase 4 possible. Imagine you are Namsio. How would the ability to provide for yourself make a difference? If you were her

daughter, how would you use the opportunity?

Makaka’s injured leg prevented him from working in the fields or getting

a job. Have you or someone you know ever dealt with an injury and found yourself unfairly treated? Who helped you or your friends through

that time?

Ornella and Frederick face challenges as youth growing up and leading in the CAR. Hearing the hardships in the world is overwhelming. Consider

this quote. “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” What does this mean to you?

As you consider the baptismal promises, should we as a church get involved in working for peace and justice? Why or why not?

We have many privilege’s we take for granted- food, clean water, healthcare, safety. What do you do with the opportunities you have in

life because of these gifts? How could you use your life to work for justice and peace?

Central African Republic is the companion country for all the ELCA congregations in ND. Our Central African friends pray for us regularly.

During Lent, we will have the Labyrinth/prayer walk and different prayer areas open from 11:30 am til 7:00 pm to encourage people to walk for

peace in CAR.

Choose on Thursday during Lent (March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10, &17) that your family could come and pray for peace in CAR. How might your

family continue a prayer practice outside of Lent?
