The Divine Marriage

by

Dr. Syed Rashid Ali

This problem relates to the family life of Mirza Ghulam and normally such problems

should be of little interest to a historian. But the family lives of such people who

proclaim a divinely-ordained status, no longer remains a private matter, for there are

lessons to be learnt. There are millions of people who strive for the hands of ladies of

their choice. Some succeed and some dont. !f unsuccessful, they move on. But this

claimant of prophethood, made it an issue out of it. "e propagated this #ivine

Marriage as a sign of the truthfulness of his claims to prophethood. "e even boasted$

This should be clear to people that there can be no better criterion of testing our truthor falsehood than our prophecy. "e failed miserably but he could not accept the

marriage of this poor girl to someone else. This so-called claimant of prophethood

over the years %ept pursuing her with his repeated prophecies of her ultimate

marriage with him before his death. But &las' "e passed away from this world with

this desire unfulfilled.

Mirza Ghulam married only two ladies during his lifetime. First at the age of 12 - 1 years with his

maternal un!le"s daughter. Sultan Ahmad and Fazal Ahmad were born out of this wedlo!#. Se!ond

marriage was done at around $% years of age in Delhi with &usrat 'ehan (egum who sons wereMahmud Ahmad )the 2nd *halifa+, (asheer Ahmad )the author of Seerat-ul-Mahdi+ and Mubara#

For seeral years after the se!ond marriage, Mirza #et haing floods of insirations and dreams

informing him of further marriages. (ut sin!e Allah AlMighty wanted to show to

Diine Gnosis and ommunion with Allah and that his sour!e of insirations

and dreams were not Rehmani but shaitani in origin, therefore all su!h

insirations and dreams roed false. After the 2nd marriage with &usrat 'ehan

(egum, no other woman !ould enter into his wedlo!#. oweer it is worth reading an a!!ount of his

attemts to get married 3rd time be!ause it sheds light on the !hara!ter of this man but more sobe!ause he had made this 3rd marriage a sign of his truthfulness.

&ow 4ust read ahead the grandiose rohe!ies of Mirza Ghulam.

The Prophecy regarding marriage with two ladies - A Virgin and A Widow

A!!ording to Mirza Ghulam, before the 2nd marriage he had re!eied an insiration regarding two

marriages5 A irgin and a widow. 6hus he wrote5

7As# Shai#h Mohammad ussein (atali under oath that is this not true

that before this marriage whi!h too# la!e in Delhi, on!e 8 was resent inhis house. e as#ed me to relate some insiration, 8 related to him a

after that with a widow. 8 remember this insiration and 8 hoe not that

Mohammad ussein has forgotten it. 8 remember his house where sitting

on the !hair 8 des!ribed this insiration and there was no tra!e of Ahmad

se!ond marriage either. 6hus if he thin#s then he should #now that this

some other time.7 )9amima An4am-e-Atham :.1, Roohani *hazain ;ol. 11 :. 2<=+

Mirza got married to &usrat 'ehan (egum, a irgin, in 1==. First art of the insiration was

fulfilled, now only the se!ond art of marriage with a widow remained. (ut two years later, on 2%th

February 1==>, Mirza Ghulam got an insiration informing him that seeral ladies would be !oming

(ut after this insiration, neither Mirza Ghulam got married again nor !ould he get hold of any

blessed or un-blessed ladies. ad he somehow got married to Mohammadi (egum, robably he wouldhae twisted and turned this insiration to fulfill it, but the honorable Allah did not want to turn a

insirations are indi!ating that "soon you would hae to marry again and it

has been de!ided by Allah that a ious-natured and good-mannered lady

would be gien to you and will bear !hildren." 6he surrising thing in this

is that when 8 had this insiration, then in the dream state fruits were

gien to me, three of them were mangoes but one was ery big green!oloured, it did not resemble the fruits of this world. 8 thin# that that

fruit whi!h did not resemble the fruits of this world, is the same blessed

son, be!ause the meaning of fruits is sons. And when the gladtiding was

gien regarding this ious-natured wife and along with it four fruits were

gien in dream, in whi!h one fruit was different, then its meaning is

obious. &ow my oonents, who are blind, ob4e!ts that why a son was not

born this time. 8n my oinion before the birth of this son, it seems

ne!essary that this 3rd marriage should ta#e la!e, be!ause in this 3rdmarriage, there are indi!ations of sons being born. :robably the time for

this 3rd is near. et us see where God intends this thing to ta#e la!e.

Marriage of Mirza was an 8neitable Destiny whi!h !ould not be ostoned under any !ir!umstan!es.
