Also contains 712g/litre hydrocarbon liquid. For use in mixtures with systemic and knockdown herbicides to improve the range of weeds controlled and the speed of knockdown and also for desiccation of seed potato haulms. First Aid: If swallowed do NOT induce vomiting. For advice contact the National Poisons Centre 0800 POISON (0800 764 766) or a doctor immediately. If splashed in eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water. If irritation persists see a doctor. Spillage: Wear appropriate protective clothing. Extinguish all ignition sources and exclude all bystanders from the vicinity of the spill. Contain liquid and prevent material from entering waterways or coming into contact with Class 1, 2, 3.2, 4 or 5 substances. Absorb spills with inert material and place in waste containers. Wash area with water and absorb with further inert material. Dispose of waste safely in an approved landfill. GENERAL INFORMATION Nail EC is a fast acting contact herbicide and aids in the control of weeds through a process of membrane disruption. Applications should target small actively growing weeds. Subsequent germinations will not be controlled. Nail EC is rapidly absorbed through the foliage and green stems of plants. Within a few hours following application, the foliage of susceptible weeds show signs of desiccation and in subsequent days necrosis and death of the plant. Nail EC can be added to contact and systemic herbicides to speed up knockdown and improve the control of certain broadleaf weeds and also for the desiccation of potato haulms. Environmental conditions eg. temperature and moisture, soil conditions and cultural practices may affect the activity of Nail EC. Under warm moist conditions, herbicide symptoms may be accelerated. Under very dry and cold conditions the expression of herbicidal symptoms is delayed, and weeds hardened off by drought are less susceptible to Nail EC. Transport: Do not carry Nail EC on a passenger servicevehicle.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

Nail EC is a triazolinone . Somenaturally occurring individual weeds may become resistantwhen excessive use of the same herbicide occurs. To preventor delay the development of resistance use Nail EC in tankmixtures where appropriate and/or in rotation with herbicideshaving a different mode of action. Consultwww.resistance.nzpps.org/ for alternative modes of action, andthe details of resistance management strategies (if any).

Record Keeping: Records of use as described in NZS8409Management of Agrichemicals must be kept.

CLEANING AND DECONTAMINATION OF EQUIPMENT AFTERUSENail EC is a very sticky product that will adhere to tank wallsand may therefore cause crop damage if not fully removedbefore using sprayers for selective weed control or theapplication of fungicides, insecticides etc. After spraying withNail EC add 500ml All-Clear® per 100 litres of water andcirculate through the spray tank and all spray lines. Allow tostand for at least 15 minutes, then empty the tank by sprayingout through the boom or gun. Should small quantities of NailEC remain in inadequately cleaned mixing, loading and/orspray equipment, they may be released during subsequentapplications potentially causing effects to sensitive crops andother vegetation. To ensure removal of residues allow All-Clearmixture to stand overnight in lines and tank. This appliesparticularly to aged and perished spray hoses and lines. Thistreatment can remove any residues of Nail 240 in the spray rig.Do not apply the sprayer cleaning solution or rinsate tosensitive crops.

EGROUP HERBICIDE

DIRECTIONS FOR USEMixing and Compatibility: Half fill the spray tank with water and start agitation.Add the required amount of Nail EC followed by the required amount of partnerherbicide. Add the remaining water and continue agitation until spraying iscomplete.Mix only sufficient chemical for each days use and avoid storing overnight.

Nail EC should not be applied in spray mixtures that have a pH below 5 or above8. LI700® or a suitable alternative may be added to acidify high pH water, to aid indrift control and to improve efficacy in many situations.

Application: Nail EC can be applied in combination with a companion herbicidethrough any conventional spray equipment that does not produce off target spraydrift. Apply in sufficient water to obtain complete coverage of all parts of theweeds. Do not apply within 1 hour of rainfall or irrigation.

Compatibility: For most weed control uses, Nail EC should be tank mixed withother herbicides including any Weedmaster® formulations or other glyphosateproducts, paraquat, glufosinate, Preeglone®, amitrole and other herbicides. Followall precautions for use on the companion product label.

Spray Drift Management:Nail EC is a contact herbicide and may cause damage if off target drift occurs. Donot allow drift on to crops as “spotting” in the form of brown pin spots (driftedfines) or brown blotches (drifted large droplets or spray) can occur. Follow allprecautions on this label to minimise off target drift. Drift management is theresponsibility of the applicator. Guidelines to manage spray drift include:- Apply through a calibrated sprayer with correct nozzles and spacing. Use the

lowest boom height possible appropriate to the target plant size.- Use the nozzle pressure recommended to produce a medium to large droplet

size.- If flat fan nozzles are to be used, the addition of LI700 or a suitable alternative

may help minimise production of fine droplets- Apply under good conditions (not too windy or dead calm).
