INTRODUCTION
The objective of Human Resources is to maximize the return on investment from the organization's human capital."Human resource management aims to improve the productive contribution of individuals while simultaneously attempting to attain other societal and individual employee objectives." Schwind, Das & Wagar (2005). In reality, human resources deals with two different worlds Human resources has at least two meanings depending on context. The original usage derives from political economy and economics, where it was traditionally called labor, one of three factors of production. The more common usage within corporations and businesses refers to the individuals within the firm, and to the portion of the firm's organization that deals with hiring, firing, training, and other personnel issues. This article addresses both definitions.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
Welfare measures have gained importance in an organization and become a social responsibility to the organization. Because of liberalization and free trade under WTO (World Trade Organization), the mere existence of an organization is at stake because of seer competition.
The study was also required because implementation of welfare measures in India has become nominal. One of the motivating factors for the study of employee welfare measures is not only of the employees but also their families are being benefited by these welfare measures

To portray the profile of cement industry with a special focus on Andhra
Cements Ltd. To identify the various welfare measures, provided by Andhra
Cements Ltd to its employees. To elicit the perception of respondents on the existing welfare
measures, provided by the company. To offer useful suggestions and to bring out improvement in the

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY The methodology discusses about the methods that have been employed for data
collection (both primary and secondary) and also justifies the method followed. It then specifies the sample size and type and gives thee justifications.
Data Collection:
The study was carried out by collecting and analyzing the data collected from two sources, namely,
Primary Primary data was collected by discussions and interactions with the managers and the
employees of Andhra Cements Ltd. A well structured questionnaire was prepared and administered on a sample of 135,
containing executives (35), non-executives (75), and unskilled labour (25). The data collected is analyzed to know the perception of the employees towards the welfare measures at ACL.
Secondary Secondary data was collected from the company records, annual releases, data provided
by the management and internet regarding the company profile and industrial profile.
LIMITATIONS The opinions, observations, and conclusions expressed here are
collected by survey and literature provided by Andhra Cements Ltd. The following are the few constraints faced during the study. Since the study was an organizational matter, some of the
responses could have been biases, as the respondent could have felt reluctant to give the right answers.
Since the sample was small when compared to the universe, the findings might not be applicable to the total universe. Efforts have been made to make the sample representative to the extent possible.
Since scientific methods are not utilized in the analysis, it could contain the view of the researcher, which need not always true.
