    ones.Inthisdayandage,teachingaJewishchildrequiresthat

    wedomorethanjustsendthechildtoaschool.Weenablethe

    childtolearnthelessons,singthesongs,knowtheholidays

    andjoininthecelebrations.Butourultimategoalistohave

    ourchildrenidentifywiththeirpeople,heritage,faithandGod.

    Theycanaccomplishthismuchmoreeasilywhentheirparentsleadbyexample.

    Manydifferenttheoriesofeducationhavecomeandgoneover

    theyears.Theonethathasenduredisthatwhentheparents

    areactivelyinvolved,thechildrenaremuchmorelikelyto

    succeed.

    Weshouldnotforamomentthinkofthisasasacrifice.To

    thecontrary,involvementisabonusforparents,too!Thefact

    isthateachofusisdefinedinsignificantmeasurebythe

    variouscommunitiestowhichwebelong.EachofthecommunitieswithinCongregationBnaiIsrael(parent

    organizations,socialactiongroups,learningclasses,prayer

    services,etc.)isdevotedinonewayoranothertoelevatingour

    familylife,spirituallifeandsociallife.Eachisalsodedicatedto

    makingusfeelthatthiscommunityaddstruequalityand

    fulfillmenttoourpersonallives.Itismostdefinitelyawin-

    winallaroundwhenparentsparticipateactively.
