reviev of all data indicates no chebullical contination exiata such

that an IPA or DIQI enforcent action would be required to effect

DEOI received a call alleging contuination of a field and an

I The DEQE and EPA investigated the industrial aite and

adjoining field and determined that a number of PCB contaminated

areas exiated The areas of contamination were primarily along

the fence of the industrial site The closest area of contaminashy

tion is 20 feet plus from lot 13

The EPA eJMrgency response te removed contaminated soil

areas by excavation and turned the site over to the EPA rerMdial

The direction of groundwater flow in lot f3 is toward the

adjacent industrial land and lots It ia unlikely any groundwater

contamination would exiat due to migration of chemicalbull in the

groundwater from adjacent propertiea The maximum concentration

of PCB found on the lot h 5 PPM The aolubility of PCB in water

h 12 PPB The concentration of bull 3 PPB in the groundwater is moat

likely the reault of PCB dissolving in the aurface water and

groundwater flow and to teat for Volatile Organic CotlpOunda

Peaticidea and PCIa (Ref 18 9 and 10) The vroundwater in

110nitorin9 well 15 contained PCI at the level of 300 PPI (parta

per billioR)

The direction of groundwater flow in lot f3 is toward the

adjacent industrial land and lots It ia unlikely any groundwater

contamination would exiat due to migration of chemicalbull in the

groundwater from adjacent propertiea The maximum concentration

of PCB found on the lot h 5 PPM The aolubility of PCB in water

h 12 PPB The concentration of bull 3 PPB in the groundwater is moat

likely the reault of PCB dissolving in the aurface water and

bulligrating to the water table
