Kula Hawaiʻi Aloha e nā ʻohana ʻo Ke Kula Haʻahaʻa ʻo Kamehameha ma Maui,

As we all laulima and navigate through a new school year, I am humbled to be a part of this great hana or work that we all collectively are doing to build a Kula Hawaiʻi. In building a Kula Hawaiʻi, Nā Pua a Pauahi need to know what it means to be a Kanaka Maoli. This requires them to nānā i ke kumu, to look to the source (their ʻohana). We will learn that being a Kanaka Maoli has a lot to do with our naʻau and understanding what is "Pono" or the Right thing to do in the face of adversity. In the first trimester, our Papa Hawaiʻi will be looking at gaining a better understanding of their Inoa/Name, Naʻau/Feelings and Loina/Values Hawaiʻi. It is my goal that each haumana become better stewards of their ʻohana, ʻāina and Lāhui Hawaiʻi by knowing their Hawaiian language and culture.
