Pray for Religious Vocations

On the 3rd of each month, our parish prays for Vocations to the Priesthood & Religious Life. Father Sy asks all to unite in prayer for this need. On Sunday, Dec 3rd after 12:15 pm & 5:30 pm Mass, we place our Lord in the Monstrance on the main altar & pray Rosary for Religious Vocations during Adoration. Join us for a silent Eucharistic Holy Hour Cenacle for all clergy after evening Rosary. If you be at the Church, then please pray for these intentions on the 3rd of each month. Thank God for sending laborers into His vineyard. We are blessed with multiple parishioners discerning religious vocations.

This is the last Sunday of the Church year, and Gospel focuses on the Final Judgment. Jesus will ask us: How did we care for the poor, the sick, the suffering? Jesus may ask if we fed the hungry, gave the drink to the thirsty, clothed the naked, cared for the sick, visited the lonely & imprisoned, buried the dead. These are the Corporal Works of Mercy.

Jesus, the King of kings, was born into poverty in a manger, no crib…. in a stable, no home….in danger of death, no safe haven. He identifies with the plight of the poor, the homeless, the persecuted, the imprisoned, the rejected, etc. As our King shows us, He did not come to be served, but to serve. Let’s follow His example.

We are also called to do Spiritual Works of Mercy. We should instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, admonish the sinners, bear wrongs patiently, forgive offenses, comfort the afflicted, pray for the living & the dead.

When Jesus comes for us, this Gospel says that God is going to focus on how well did we love. Jesus explains that how we love the “least” among us is how we love Jesus. Let’s to be ever ready to meet our Lord, by loving one another, as He loves us.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

Could you not watch one hour with Me?" - Matthew 26:40 Prayer and meditation before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament are great ways to spend some special time with Him. You can ask Him for graces for yourself or for loved ones, reflect on His Word, or just keep him company. And it’s no bother for Jesus. In fact, He very much wants to see you! Call 657-888-4631 or write to [email protected] to schedule your special hour and watch peace, healing, guidance, enlightenment, and forgiveness fill your life

Faith Formation Quotes from the Greats

Jesus does not permit the world he

has conquered for God on the Cross to continue to exist as it was. He implants God’s rule in it. In men’s hearts. Divine love has become ‘at home’ on the earth through him. In the hearts of the poor, of children, of the merciful, the gentle, the persecuted, in pure hearts. In canonized saints…Together they constitute the Kingdom. ~ Hans Urs Cardinal Von Balthasar This begins a weekly series of “Quotes from the Greats.” Each week the bulletin will feature a pithy saying or short quote from the great thinkers, theologians, saints, Councils etc., wherever they popped up in salvation history. These sayings are not necessarily aligned with the seasons of the Church, but are instead timeless truths for all generations to ponder. I hope they will add to your meditation and edification in the supreme richness of our Faith. Enjoy! Stephen Duffin, Director of Faith Formation
