beware ofthe following
misconceptions:
Major Error Number One
It doesn’t matter if they are
diagnosed with a learning disability
or a hearing problem, I give
them all the same allowances.
These students have their own set of allowances.
Major Error Number Two
Deaf and hard of hearing students get the
computerized “Bagrut” Exam.
It isn’t suitable for a person who can’t hear well!
Major Error Number Three
All students with a hearing
problem get the same
allowances.
Severity of hearing loss influences allowances.
Major Error Number Four
“I had a student with a hearing
loss a few years ago. I don’t
need to be in touch with a counselor”.
Students are carefully
diagnosed. Needs vary.

The student with the hearing loss
can’t do a LOG for Modules D/F, because the
school has chosen the exam format.
These students were granted
the right to do
a LOG even if the
