1 Purpose of this document This document was created to learn how flexible mylink can be integrated in your hotel homepage. mylink is more than just a hyperlink. Technologies like the quick search booking widget can help you to embed the booking functionality in a prominent location on your homepage, so that a looker can easily be converted into a booker. Also visual integration is easily done by using Iframe technology to have the booking link appear in a window surrounded by the homepage navigation. Furthermore promotions can be embedded directly on the hotel homepage where the booker has not even started the booking process. Additional technical documentation is available for web designers “Quick Search Plug-in for Web UI – Setup and Development guide”. 2 mylink standard integration After the setup phase of your property, you will receive the link to your property for the implementation on your website. The link can look as follows: https://www.myfidelio.net/webui/AvailabilitySearch.aspx?chain=MyChainCode&property=MyPropertyCode The Chain code and property code will be different for each property. 3 Browser Window integration options

There are 3 different generic ways to implement mylink

• As an Iframe within your hotel homepage

• As a pop-up window out of your hotel homepage

• As a new browser window within your hotel homepage

In the following examples you will see the differences between the 3 options

3.1 As an Iframe within your hotel homepage

In the below example you will see that the main hotel homepage navigation is located on top of the booking link. Also the blue colour surrounding the booking link belongs to the hotel homepage. So mylink is integrated as a small window into the design and surroundings of your homepage. The width of mylink should be 850 pixels minimum to be able to present all features of mylink. The height can be defined by the web agency. The shorter it is the more vertical scrolling will be involved for the booker.

3.2 As a pop-up window out of your hotel homepage

When the booker clicks on the booking link, a new pop-up window will open, but the user still has the homepage as a background to return if required. The width and height of the window can be defined based on the size desired. Be aware that the smaller the window is, the more scrolling will be involved for the user.

3.3 As a new browser window within your hotel homepage

Your booking link opens entirely within a new window in full screen mode. The hotel homepage is not shown to the user anymore due to mylink expanding to full size.

4 Quick search booking widget on the hotel homepage The quick search is a booking widget that can be embedded into the hotel homepage in any location. Quick search integration can be combined with any of the 3 Browser window integration options. There are two different options that you can choose from.

4.1 Quick search integration – basic design

The look and feel (colours, fonts) originate from the design that is setup for a property in mylink. When selecting an arrival date, amount of rooms and adults and click on “Check availability” the booker gets directed to the mylink booking engine. A quick search typically looks as follows:

4.2 Quick search integration – custom design

You can not only use the standard quick search widget, it is also possible to customize the full design, available fields and positioning of your quick search entirely. Please see below a selection of quick search variations that can be used. Even different hotels and regions can be integrated in the link.

To implement any of the options on your own homepage, all you need is the “Quick Search Plug-In for Web UI – Set up and Development Guide”. With this setup guide your web agency will be able to create your custom design. If you have not received this guide yet, please contact your local customer service or [email protected].

5 Use customized links to maximize the revenue over your homepage

mylink offers a lot of integration options to market your hotel more effectively. The below activities will help your hotel to maximize revenue.

5.1 Define the default language for your property

You have translated your hotel, room and rate descriptions in other languages than English? You offer several languages on your hotel homepage? Then you have the option to use different defaults by adding the language to your booking link. Like this you can avoid that the booker has to select the language twice: On the homepage and on the booking link. Your “book now” button can point to different languages, depending which language the user has selected. All that needs to be done is add the language to your booking link, like in the following example: https://www.myfidelio.net/webui/AvailabilitySearch.aspx?chain=IQ&property=ESPRAD&language=ES Without specification the language default will be English. 5.2 Use Promotion codes, group codes, corporate numbers or IATA codes

In order to allow the user to directly get on a promotional rate from a button on your website, you can integrate the mylink booking link right in an advertisement or a protected area on your homepage. All you need is the mylink generic hyperlink of your hotel and the promotion code created in myfidelio.net. Please see below example: https://www.myfidelio.net/webui/AvailabilitySearch.aspx?chain=TTTT&property=JUKN&promotioncode=SUM The promotion code would directly be inserted in the respective field, so that the user does not have to type it in.

This is how a promotion on your website could look like: The same could be done for Block codes, Company profile numbers or IATA codes which have been linked to negotiated rates in myfidelio.net.

5.3 Directly move to step two of the booking process

Particularly for promotions, but also generally you might want that the booker skips the first page of the booking process and gets directed to the area where he can select the rate. In this case just the value &autosubmit=1 needs to be added to the booking link as indicated in the following example: https://www.myfidelio.net/webui/AvailabilitySearch.aspx?chain=IQ&property=ESPRAD&autosubmit=1 From the “book now” button, the booker gets directed to the second page of the booking process immediately. This option can be combined with any other language or parameter.

5.4 Use predefined arrival dates and define length of stay

It might be that you have a summer promotion, which can only be booked for a specific arrival date with a particular length of stay. This can be done by simply adding the arrival date and/or number of nights in the booking link: https://www.myfidelio.net/webui/AvailabilitySearch.aspx?chain=IQ&property=ESPRAD&arrival=2010-12-19&nights=2 The arrival and departure date will already be preselected, when mylink is opened.
