From 1993 to 1999 As under and graduate student, I spent a lot of time in the Wind Tunnel Lab at DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICS AND ENGINEERING SCIENCE, FUDAN UNIVERSITY, Shanghai, China. Studied on the wind effect and the interference effect of high buildings, data acquisition, signal processing.

From 1999 to 2003 I lived in Singapore to pursue my Ph.D. in thermal and fluid science at Nanyang Technology University.

In 2004, I work as visiting scholar at Los Alamos National Lab, Chemistry Department to conduct research on oxygen sensor development.

From 2003 to 2013 I worked as Principle Investigator (PI) and Co-PI in several projects using CFD technology to predict flow performance, heat transfer.

From 2006 to 2007 I conducted research project of Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) of Electromagnetic pump for liquid metal coolant (Lead Bismuth Eutectic)

From 2004 to 2013 I was in charge of one liquid metal coolant (Lead Bismuth Eutectic) system for investigations of material corrosion, scientific instrumentation, thermo hydraulics, system safety, integration and control.

In 2007, I received President Research Award of University of Nevada, Las Vegas 2007, -- “Microbial fuel cell - Convert Wastes into Electricity”.

From 2009 to 2013 I worked as coordinator of Algal Biofuel Program and conducted researches of algal biofuel technology and economy analysis, design prototype of photobioreactor for large scale cultivation, electro-coagulation for harvesting, filter belt process for dewatering process.

In 2012, I visited the State of Scientific Center of the Russian Federation – Institute for Physics and Power Engineering (IPPE), with scientists from Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences .

From 2010 to 2011, Collaborated with Rocky Research, we worked on the project of “Efficient Thermal Management & Temperature Amplification for Lunar Based Systems”, supported from NASA.

Since 2003 I started to carry out numerical simulation of fluid dynamics using Fortran Language and moved to commercial software of FLUENT from ANSYS.

Microalgae Biofuel is a promising technology, which I believe can help to make our community sustainable. I tried my best to promote researches in our university, when I was a coordinator of Algal Biofuel Program at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I provided lectures to public, got an interview by our local radio station, participated Earth Day events. In addition, I have developed • Several prototype of photobioreactor

for lab scale and outdoor pilot scale production of algal biomass using municipal waste water,

• Electro-coagulation system to harvest microalgae from dilute growth media.
