Nouns-Recycling A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.We should all be a part of recycling. Recycling helps to minimize the drain on the limited resources of our planet. It also helps to minimize the presence of waste materials in our communities. Items such as glass, paper, and plastics are being reused to create

new products; they do not end up taking up space in a landfill. Choosing to reuse and recycle items also makes it possible to cut the cost of producing products significantly. It saves energy and lowers cost.

Adjectives-My Dream Car• Adjectives describe nouns by answering one of these three

questions: What kind is it? How many are there? Which one is it? An adjective can be a single word, a phrase, or a clause.

• My dream car is a Subaru Forester. The car has beautiful fire-engine red paint that seems to shine. It is like having a car and a truck

together. The gas mileage is forty miles per gallon the highway and thirty-six miles per gallon in town. It has a really great price, too.

Adverbs-Snorkeling• Adverbs are words that modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.• Snorkeling is very fun. It is the practice of

swimming slowly on or through the water wearing a diving mask, snorkel, and usually fins looking at things under the water. With the Gulf of Mexico quite close to Bainbridge, there are many fun places to snorkel. You can see shells, crabs, fish, and seaweed. Sometimes you may see a sea turtle or a sting ray.

My purse has been turned topsy-turvy, but I still have not found my “Do List”. There it is! I found it on the refrigerator clipped on the “Honey Do List” magnet.Personal graphics by Marjorie Brock
