My name is Heather Templeton. My nickname is Boo and that is what I sign all of my traditional pieces with, that is why it plays a part in my logo. I aspire to be a graphic designer that specializes in Posters and CD design, but am always willing and able to dive into other projects that involve product design, branding, and advertisement. My traditional piece often play a part in my digital design, showing up as the color choices or vectored line art. I am a big fan of textures.

Picture Clean is a fictional Organic Soap geared towards artists, specifically, those that are tired of the only soap that will get skin staining media off without the terrible smell of harsh chemicals.

I had to design the company logo, an advertisement page, the package the soap would come in, and then an eight-page branding book that is meant to dictate the rules of the brand.

Templeton is the name of the band, and 'Quoting Life' is the name of the album I designed. I used my Cousin and my sister as the band members, all pictures were taken by me an modified for this specifically.

The crest for the 'Templeton' band logo is the vectored version of my real family crest, and that is the reason I used it. The colors yellow/gold, red, black, and white also came from the crest.

The Cleint (Arts Council of Kansas City) wanted a new Logo for a branch off of the main brand. They gave us three other branches to base the new logo off of. Purple was picked as the other branches were lacking in cool colors. The megaphone picked was picked over the skyline because Arts Advocacy is meant to get the word out there.

The project also include a letter head, a business card, an envelope and a brochure displaying the uses of the logo and the brand colors and design that were created for it.

1) Purple is the Lupus Awareness ribbon. It was made to state little known facts about a little know medical issue that is as deadly as Cancer.

2) I played with a picture of my lazying cat and an old water color drawing to serve as the background for the text. For the truest of Cat Lovers.

3) A Poster for Reading 108, a class taken at MCC Longview. Their old poster was out of date.

Each Poster Represents a different play. The goal was to focus on images over text; I hand drew each image before scanning in into the computer, and then vectoring the image. I then enhanced the image with back ground textures and gradients, trying be vibrant but simple at the same time so the line art could talk for its self.

With the main focus on the use of typography, I used the text as the image, playing around with different effects and outlines letters.

I hope they will make that special someone they are given to smile and giggle when they get them.

A 20 page spread done to redesign and enhance the already printed Annual Report of 2010 for University of Missouri System. I wanted it to be crisp and clean, so kept with a white back ground and two light, cool colors and simple graphics.

Utilizing a grids system to layout a magazine spread.

Because it is about the ‘8-by-8’ rule about how many cups of water to drink a day, I found 8 ounce cups to photo graph, and the put eight of them in the layout. For colors I kept to the blue of the cups (water) and added orange to the picture of my sister to bring out that blue.
