Film and Media• I enjoy all aspects of film and media. I think that media

platforms have become really powerful in recent years and this really interests me. I think that this sudden growth of media use in society makes the subject a very important and current subject.

• I enjoy creating and making short films or capturing a moment. The idea of making something that could influence a viewer really excites me.

• I find watching films and television very interesting from a media student’s perceptive as well as a general viewer. I like to be inspired by other people’s work.

Social Media• Facebook• I use Facebook a lot less than I used to although it was the first

'social media' site that I joined (after skype, which wasn't very 'social'). If I use Facebook I would use it to watch short videos and read about what is happening in celebrity culture/the world. I have found that people use Facebook to share things that they find: funny, inspirational or exciting. This means that instead of using Facebook for updating people on their lives, my friends are using it to share the interesting things that are happening in the world - as well as the odd spam and post saying 'if you DON'T post this as your status Facebook will delete your account in the morning.'

Instagram• I like to think that I was one of the first people to get

Instagram. After setting up an account so that I could edit my photos, I was surprised when I started to get likes from random people! After putting my account on private and starting to follow my friends and those I admired, I now love Instagram and I think it's my favorite app. Two years ago when I wrote about my favorite social media for GCSE's I commented that Instagram was boring as people uploaded pictures there last (and on Facebook first), however I think now the tables have turned and Instagram gets used by people more regularly. I would take a photo for Instagram now rather than for Facebook.

Facebook Messenger• Facebook messenger has become popular in the last year

mainly because Facebook has forced everyone to get it (as they deleted it off their main app). I use Facebook messenger regularly as it is where all my main group chats are. This means that this is where all the gossip, plans and people are. Unlike other messaging sites eg. Whatsapp, Facebook messenger can be used to message basically anyone that you know (and you don't have to have their mobile number). I think that this app is what is keeping Facebook alive because I think I could happily delete my Facebook account if it wasn't for the fact I communicate mainly through their messenger.

Snapchat• I like Snapchat and use it regularly. I think that its cool that you

can see things as they happen in Snapchat story and the communication method that it has is original (unlike Facebook messenger). It is good for short conversation and I think that it has made social media more visual and personal.

Twitter• I use Twitter as a back up app. If I am bored and I have

checked all my other social medias I will check Twitter. I think it's because of who I follow, but the 93 people I follow don't really post much on Twitter and nor do I because I think that people are more judgmental of what people post on social media nowadays. There is pressure to think of something to tweet that is funny, intelligent, cute, cool and the list goes on. This means that people might not post as much in case they embarrass themselves, instead people often retweet things and interact with their friends.

YouTube• Again I like to think that I was one of the original fans of

YouTubers and YouTube. I remember subscribing to YouTubers like 'Zoella' and 'Caspar Lee' when they had under 200,000 subscribers! Although I haven't watched YouTubers since their beginning its been interesting to see them grow in popularity and fame. I used to enjoy watching YouTubers weekly however recently I haven't watched them as often. I think that I find the vloggers unrelatable and uninteresting now as their lives just contain meetings and promotion for books that they have 'written'. I think YouTube is a great platform but I'm not enjoying its content as much now.
